Further efficiency is gained through the Gulf Stream protocol, which reduces confirmation times by forwarding transactions to validators before the current block is finished.  Founded in 2017 by Anatoly Yakovenko, Solana is now supported by the Switzerland-based Solana Foundation and significant institutional investors like Andreessen Horowitz and Polychain Capital. The platform’s native token, SOL, serves as the primary currency for paying transaction fees, participating in network governance, and securing the system through staking.   Solana has also seen significant institutional adoption ranging from spot Solana ETFs to major partnerships including Visa's 2025 launch of USDC settlement on the network and the tokenization of public equity by firms like Galaxy Digital.

Sui s a Layer 1 blockchain developed by Mysten Labs, a team founded by former lead engineers from Meta’s blockchain research division. The platform utilizes the Move programming language to create a safe framework and supports horizontal scaling to keep fees stable and speeds high as the network grows. Significant institutional support comes from major venture capital firms including Andreessen Horowitz, Coinbase Ventures, Circle Ventures, and YZi Labs.  The system functions by organizing data into independent objects rather than a single ledger of accounts. This object-centric data model enables parallel execution, allowing the network to process many transactions simultaneously instead of waiting for one to finish before starting the next. This architecture is built for rapid transaction finalization to ensure near-instant results. To maintain long-term stability, the network collects fees into a storage fund that rewards validators for keeping data on the network indefinitely.  Sui offers several advanced tools including zkLogin for easier account access and sponsored transactions that allow users to interact with apps without managing complex wallets or immediate fees. Developers can also create tailored object types that work across the entire network, which encourages innovation and deep composability. These features are designed to create a more user-friendly experience for interacting with decentralized applications and digital games.  The SUI token is central to the ecosystem, serving as the primary asset for transaction fees and on-chain utility within decentralized exchanges and lending platforms. Users participate in a proof-of-stake mechanism by locking their tokens to support validators and secure the blockchain in exchange for rewards. Additionally, token holders have a role in governance, allowing them to participate in voting on network rules and future protocol upgrades. Value moves through the system through these staking rewards and transaction fees to ensure the platform scales sustainably

Repeated Sui mainnet outages and transaction halts have triggered a debate over the networks reliability, security, and decentralization, with bearish traders calling the protocol damaged. Bulls counter that gasless stablecoin transfers, staking, and institutional adoption could strengthen Suis long-term utility, while token unlocks remain a supply concern.

VeChain is a public Layer-1 blockchain designed for real-world applications. Founded in 2015, its VeChainThor network supports enterprise and consumer use cases involving supply chains, product provenance, sustainability, digital product passports, tokenized incentives and verifiable data.  VeChainThor combines EVM-compatible smart contracts with a dual-token model, native fee delegation and multi-clause transactions. VET is the network’s native asset and staking collateral, while VTHO is used to pay transaction fees and execute smart contracts.  VeChain’s ecosystem includes VeBetter, an app platform that rewards verified positive actions; StarGate, its NFT-based staking platform; VeWorld, its self-custody wallet; and VeWorld.ai, its AI-agent platform. In its April 2026 roadmap, VeChain reported that VeBetter had reached 5.3 million users, more than 50 live applications and over 50 million verified actions.  VeChain has also worked with organizations including Walmart China, DNV, PwC, Boston Consulting Group and UFC across enterprise, sustainability and consumer initiatives.

Use HCS to track assets across a supply chain, create auditable logs of events in an advertising platform, or even use it as a decentralized ordering service.
