One thought keeps coming back as I review WeRide&#39;s recent hiring. What if the next major product isn&#39;t another Robotaxi? What if it&#39;s the infrastructure that keeps 1000&#39;s of Robotaxis moving? 
 
Today, WeRide already develops the intelligence that decides which vehicle should pick up which passenger. Recent hiring shows growing investment in Dispatch, Routing, Fleet Orchestration, ETA prediction and PUDO optimization. 
 
At the same time, a separate set of job openings is building capabilities around battery energy storage systems (BESS), zero-carbon parks, strategic energy partnerships, overseas energy sales and large-scale project delivery. 
 
Those appear to be 2 separate initiatives today. But they solve the same problem.

Imagine a platform that doesn't simply dispatch vehicles. It also decides when each vehicle should charge, which depot has available capacity, when electricity prices are lowest, how to utilize stationary battery storage and how to maximize fleet uptime. 
 
Call it "WeCharge," or something entirely different. 
The name is less relevant, but the opportunity is. 
 
Instead of selling autonomous driving software alone, WeRide could eventually offer an integrated fleet operating platform combining autonomy, dispatch, charging, energy management and depot optimization. There is no evidence the company is building this specific product today.

• Stronger customer lock-in, as fleet operators would rely on WeRide for both autonomous driving and fleet energy management rather than sourcing separate vendors. 
 
• Greater scalability, with standardized depot and charging solutions that can be replicated across new cities and international markets. 
 
• Better economics for partners such as Uber, Grab and local fleet operators, making WeRide&#39;s platform more attractive as deployment volumes increase.
