Apple Inc. (AAPL) is reportedly planning to make its Siri available to non-ecosystem artificial intelligence assistants in a move that will help its iPhone become an AI platform.

According to a report from Bloomberg, which cited people with knowledge of the matter, Apple is planning the change as part of changes to Siri in the upcoming iOS 27 update.

The tech company is working on new tools that will allow AI chatbot apps to be installed on the iPhone via the App Store, which will integrate with Siri, as per the report. The chatbots will also be able to work with an upcoming Siri app and other features in the Apple Intelligence platform, as per the report.

AAPL shares were trading 0.6% higher at the time of writing.
