The Boeing Co. (BA) has been awarded a $131.23 billion ceiling contract by the U.S. Air Force for the F-15 Eagle Crest program, covering aircraft production, systems integration, modernization, upgrades, retrofits and sustainment.

BA shares ended Monday’s regular session down 1.75%, but were trading 0.41% higher after-hours at the time of writing.

Contract Runs Through 2037

The contract covers the delivery and maintenance of critical F-15 Eagle Weapon System capabilities for the Air Force, Air National Guard, and other Department of War customers. It also includes establishing organic depot maintenance capabilities.

Work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to be completed by August 2037. The ordering period is expected to end on August 24, 2031, with an option to extend it through August 24, 2036.

The contract also involves foreign military sales to Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, and Poland.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is the contracting activity.

BA Stock: Stocktwits Retail Sentiment

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment for BA remained ‘bearish,’ unchanged over the past 24 hours, while message volume was ‘normal’ at the time of writing. Over the past seven days, message volume around the stock has increased by 49%.

One retail trader shared the Department of War’s contract announcement and said, “Time to load up,” signaling that they viewed the news as a buying opportunity.

Another trader took a more bullish view on the potential stock reaction, suggesting that the contract news could drive a $20 “hike in the stock price this week!” 

One more bullish trader was even more optimistic, predicting that BA shares could climb to $215 in the next trading session.

Another retail trader took a bullish view, citing the contract’s $130 billion ceiling and its 2037 completion date as potential catalysts for BA. The trader also predicted that the stock could open above $225 and expected multiple analysts to raise their targets.
