Circus SE, a European autonomous robotics firm, has announced the expansion of its alliance with Meta Platforms Inc. (META), taking its partnership into the defense technology arena.

The collaboration will integrate Meta’s advanced Llama AI models into Circus’s defense applications, particularly within its CA-M robotic systems, which are designed for military logistics.

Meta Platforms’ stock inched 0.3% higher in Wednesday’s premarket. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the stock shifted to ‘bullish’ from ‘extremely bullish’ territory the previous day amid ‘high’ message volume levels.

The move marks a major evolution from Meta’s previous approach, where access to its Llama AI models was limited to the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance, comprising the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K., and New Zealand. Meta is now extending that access to trusted democratic allies across Europe and Asia, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, NATO, and the European Union.

By incorporating Meta’s models, Circus aims to build highly intelligent and autonomous defense systems that improve real-time decision-making and streamline logistics in complex environments.

“Llama’s open-source foundation allows us to securely deploy AI in sensitive environments locally without relying on third-party infrastructures,” said Director of AI at Circus, Niklas von Weihe.

The company’s CA-M platform, an AI-powered robot designed for defense logistics, will now benefit from localized and secure integration of the Llama models. This integration is expected to give Circus a technological edge, enabling it to deliver mission-specific AI tools tailored to the unique needs of defense agencies.

Meta Platforms’ stock has gained 29% in 2025 and over 34% in the last 12 months.
