Shares of Ondas Holdings, Inc. (ONDS) rose nearly 1% in overnight trading on Wednesday after the company said its newly merged defense unit, Mistral, is set to showcase its battlefield-ready drone systems for unit-level deployment to military operators this week.
ONDS stock jumped 16% in April and is on track to record its best month this year.
Mistral will showcase its drone technology at Modern Day Marine 2026, a Washington, D.C.-based defense industry symposium running from April 28 to April 30. The symposium brings together bigwigs at the Marine Corps, operators, and defense contractors to discuss emerging battlefield tech and operational requirements.
Ondas said on X that, “as part of this environment, Mistral is engaging with operators and partners around tactical UAS capabilities designed for real-world deployment at the unit level.” Mistral’s presence comes amid Ondas’ efforts to push its autonomous systems portfolio closer to field-level operations across U.S. defense programs.
The development follows a contract announced earlier this week, under which Mistral will deliver THOR tactical drone systems and payloads to the U.S. Army’s Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Product Office.
THOR is a portable military drone for small frontline units and can be used for reconnaissance, surveillance, communications and cargo delivery depending on mission needs. The systems are intended to support small tactical formations with rapidly deployable aerial capability. Mistral is working with Fuse, a unit of Elbit Systems C4I & Cyber, on integration of mission payloads and platform capabilities.
Last week, Ondas completed its merger with Mistral in a deal valued at $175 million that expanded the company’s access to U.S. Army and Special Operations contract vehicles and added domestic manufacturing and integration infrastructure.
Mistral brought $264 million in contracted backlog into the combined business, helping lift Ondas’ pro forma backlog to $457 million as of March 31 after including contributions from both Mistral and recently acquired World View Enterprises.
The deal was part of Ondas’ broader effort to scale its autonomous systems platform across defense and homeland security markets, including tactical drones, counter-UAS tech and ground robotics programs.
On Stocktwits, retail sentiment for ONDS was ‘bearish’ amid ‘normal’ message volume.

One user said, “Ink is barely dry on the deal and Mistral already landed us $20 million with an Army drone contract, beautiful execution, EB!! [founder Eric Brock]”
Another user said, “Company has produced some great new videos lately. EB hinted a newer version of Iron Drone at the Investor call. Would love to see at earnings a updated Iron Drone.”
ONDS stock has rocketed nearly 1,300% over the past year.
