On Monday, Vanguard&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-12-01/vanguard-relents-on-crypto-etfs-will-allow-them-on-its-platform">announced</a> that it will allow certain crypto ETFs and mutual funds on its platform.Morgan Stanley’s global investment committee in October suggested&nbsp; 2% to 4% crypto allocation for investors with higher risk tolerance. Earlier in the year, BlackRock advocated an allocation of 1% to 2% to Bitcoin, while Fidelity recommended 2% to 5% for general clients and up to 7.5% for investors under 30.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Change In BAC’s Crypto Policy</h2>The new guidance marks a shift from BAC’s previous policy, which barred advisers from proactively suggesting crypto products. According to a report by Yahoo Finance, Bank of America now recommends allocating 1% to 4% to crypto for eligible clients.

The timestamped headline on the Genesis Block, mined on January 3, 2009, read, "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks." It was a direct critique of a system that had erased wealth while protecting institutional actors during 2008 financial crisis.Today, that radical vision has been partially co-opted by the very institutions Bitcoin was designed to circumvent.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Centralization Forces Enter the Fray</h2>Strategy’s pivot in 2020 set the stage for this shift. According&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://defillama.com/">to</a> DefiLlama, DEXs recorded a historic monthly trading volume of over $585 billion in October 2025, surpassing the previous peak set in January 2025 during the emergence of meme tokens TRUMP and MELANIA.&nbsp;Meanwhile, macro uncertainty has elevated Bitcoin’s role in the “<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/bitcoin-was-the-only-answer-to-the-debt-crisis-strive-ceo/cLGFCkMR3xl">debasement trade</a>,” with investors using it as a hedge against dollar weakness. The surge above $126,000 in early October shows Bitcoin’s dual identity, explained in NYDIG's latest&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.nydig.com/research/the-factors-driving-gold-and-bitcoin">research</a> report. It showed that Bitcoin tends to rise when the U.S. dollar weakens and liquidity improves.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Market Growth Reflects Philosophical Shift</h2>More than a decade since the paper was published, Bitcoin’s market capitalization has surged past $2.2 trillion, with the asset reaching all-time highs above $126,000 per coin, earlier this month – driven, in part, by institutional adoption of the apex cryptocurrency. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around the apex cryptocurrency surged to ‘extremely bullish’ from ‘bullish’ territory over the past day amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.
