The stock already discounts a Sharon deal, said Keefe, which also has concerns around Bitfarms's rising leverage and elevated capex.&nbsp;</p><p>Keefe said it would get more constructive on the shares with greater clarity on the company's liquidity and 2026 capex.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Capital Raises</h2><p>Bitfarms in October had said that it has closed its offering of $588 million aggregate principal amount of 1.375% convertible senior notes due 2031. It said that Interest coupon will be payable semi-annually in arrears on January 15 and July 15 of each year, beginning on July 15, 2026.</p><p>Bitfarms had also converted a private debt facility for up to $300 million from Macquarie Group’s Commodities and Global Markets business, to an up to $300 million project-specific financing facility for the development of its data center campus in Panther Creek, Pennsylvania.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">AI Data Center Push</h2><p>Bitfarm in 2024 had entered into the definitive lease agreement and assumed control of its newest data center in Sharon, Pennsylvania, initially announced on June 13, 2024.</p><p>This site represented Bitfarms’ first mega-site in the U.S. with access to up to 120 MW.&nbsp;</p><p>Bitfarms has planned to wind down its Bitcoin mining operations by 2027, and its transition will begin with its 18-megawatt site in Washington State.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">LatAm Exit Deal</h2><p>BITF earlier in the month said it has entered into a share purchase agreement to sell its 70 MW site in Paso Pe, Paraguay, to the Sympatheia Power Fund (SPF), a crypto infrastructure fund managed by Singapore-based Hawksburn Capital.</p><p>The deal was valued at $30 million. The deal is expected to close on or about January 19, 2026.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Productize Bitmine&nbsp;</h2><p>Tom Lee also said he wants to productize Bitmine and said that an app is in the works. The statement comes when Tom Lee has urged shareholders to approve a massive share increase.&nbsp;</p><p>He also said that Bitmine is going to bridge TradFi (traditional finance) and DeFi (Decentralized Finance) with the help of its MAVAN platform which is Bitmine’s proprietary Ethereum staking solution. Tom Lee said at the time of launch Mavan, Bitmine will be the biggest staking operator in the world.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Bitmine’s Share Increase For Acquisitions</h2><p>Tom Lee earlier had urged shareholders to approve a charter amendment to increase the number of authorized shares from 500 million to 50 billion. Retail sentiment around Bitmine on Stocktwits flipped to ‘bullish’ from ‘bearish’ over the past day as chatter rose to ‘high’ from ‘low’ levels. Platform data showed a 139% jump in message volume over that time.</p><p>Retail sentiment around Ethereum also ticked higher, improving to ‘neutral’ from ‘extremely bearish’ as chatter rose to ‘normal’ from ‘low’ levels.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">It’s Almost Shareholder Vote Time</h2><p>Bitmine shareholders are scheduled to vote on the company’s proposal to increase authorized shares from 500 million to 50 billion on Thursday. It would allow the Ethereum DAT to pick up more of the token and achieve its goal of accumulating 5% of ETH’s total circulating supply.&nbsp;</p><p>"We need to pursue this increase now as Bitmine is soon to exhaust its current 500 million authorization," Lee said on Monday. "And when that happens, our ETH accumulation will slow."</p><p>The uptick in staking is a signal to the market that with more shares available, Bitmine is likely to buy more Ethereum and then lock it away to earn returns for shareholders. Tom Lee-Backed BMNR Stakes Over A Quarter Of Its Ethereum Treasury Ahead Of Shareholder Vote

Bitmine shareholders are scheduled to vote on the company’s proposal to increase authorized shares from 500 million to 50 billion on Thursday. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>ICE CEO Jeffrey Sprecher said stablecoins have “dollarized the world”, as they are denominated in US dollars.</li><li>Robinhood has launched 24/7 trading offering trading of selected stocks and exchange-traded funds.</li></ul><p>NYSE-parent, Intercontinental Exchange’s Chief Executive Officer said on Monday that the company is trying to catch up with firms like Robinhood on crypto and 24/7 trading markets.&nbsp;</p><p>“New York Stock Exchange, by law, has to close the stock exchange at four in the afternoon,” Jeffrey Sprecher said. “Robinhood has come out, and they're trading 24 hours a day, and a lot of that volume is coming from overseas, because all these overseas people, they all want to own the Magnificent Seven, and they all have dollars in an account, and it's like they're buying US stocks,” he added.&nbsp;</p><p>“These innovators have created twenty-four by seven markets, twenty-four by seven capital movements, and we're trying to catch up, much like the regulators, and figure out what this means for our business,” he said at Rotary Club of Atlanta.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Stablecoin Popularity</h2><p>Sprecher said that stablecoins have “dollarized the world,” as they are denominated in US dollars, prompting European central bank and UK central bank and even China to rush and launch their own stablecoin type currency.&nbsp;</p><p>Last year Intercontinental Exchange signed a memorandum of understanding with Circle, issuer of the world’s second-largest stablecoin, to explore integrating Circle’s products into its trading and clearing business.&nbsp;</p><p>Firms like Visa have launched stablecoin settlement in the United States as it gains popularity globally.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">24*7 Trading Push</h2><p>NYSE has been planning to extend weekday trading on its NYSE Arca equities exchange to 22 hours a day on all weekdays, excluding weekends. Last month, Nasdaq also filed for a 23-hours a day trading for five weeks a day to U.S. Securities and Exchange, as demand from investors pile.</p><p>Robinhood has launched 24/7 trading offering trading of selected stocks and exchange-traded funds as it pushes to go beyond traditional Wall Street operating hours. It said that the company's recent product launches enhance the competitiveness of its core business, as per a research note cited by TheFly.&nbsp;</p><p>At its ‘System Update’ keynote event in December, Coinbase&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/coin-stock-gains-as-coinbase-targets-robinhood-turf-with-stock-trading/cLegQuyREAE">outlined</a> several new initiatives aimed at broadening its platform. The company said it would introduce stock trading, allowing users to transact directly using their balance on the platform, including USD Coin. Coinbase also announced a partnership with Kalshi to support prediction markets, echoing a similar step taken by Robinhood and Gemini in 2025.&nbsp;</p><p>Traders are also watching Coinbase’s international strategy. Coinbase Rallies After Goldman Calls COIN Stock A ‘Best-In-Class’ Crypto Play

Bitcoin’s price also rose in early morning trading, lifting crypto-linked equities higher.

<ul><li>Jeff Dorman, the chief investment officer at Arca, said in a post on X that the biggest threat to MSTR is if the stock decouples from Bitcoin’s price movements.&nbsp;</li><li>According to him, even if Bitcoin’s price crashes and MSTR’s stock price goes down with it, the company has two years of cash runway to survive.</li><li>However, the company could be forced to sell stock if Bitcoin’s price shoots up but MSTR’s stock price doesn’t rise with it.</li></ul><p>Strategy (MSTR) edged 0.85% higher in after-hours trade on Sunday as Bitcoin (BTC) rose to touch $93,000 ahead of the company announcing its weekly Bitcoin purchase, or an addition to its newly created U.S. dollar reserve.</p><p>According to Jeff Dorman, chief investment officer at Arca, neither a potential removal from the MSCI index nor a sharp drop in Bitcoin’s price represents the real threat facing Strategy. Meanwhile, retail sentiment around&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin</a> jumped to ‘extremely bullish’ to ‘bullish’ territory over the past day, notably flipping from the ‘bearish’ zone seen last week. Chatter remained at ‘normal’ levels.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Bitcoin Crashing Isn’t the Core Risk</h2><p>Dorman pushed back on concerns that Strategy could face meaningful downside from a potential MSCI index removal. He said the risk of being dropped from MSCI is “marginally bad for stock” and “irrelevant for $BTC,” arguing it would have little impact on Strategy’s underlying business or its balance sheet. Investors are also&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/StocktwitsPolls">watching</a> MSTR’s stock for its potential inclusion in the S&amp;P 500 this quarter.</p><p>Dorman added that Strategy would not be forced into selling its holdings even during periods of extreme volatility for Bitcoin. According to him, the company holds more than two years of cash runway and faces no covenants that would require Bitcoin sales under stress scenarios.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">The Risk That Could Break the MSTR Story</h2><p>Dorman identified the biggest concern for Strategy as a scenario where Bitcoin “screaming higher” fails to lift Strategy’s stock price. If MSTR were to decouple from Bitcoin and trade well below its market net asset value (mNAV), the company’s capital-raising model could come under strain.</p><p>In that case, issuing shares through at-the-market offerings would become difficult if the stock trades meaningfully below mNAV. In such a situation, Strategy may be forced to consider selling Bitcoin to repurchase stock, undermining the core premise of the trade.</p><p>Ahead of Monday’s announcement, Saylor&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/saylor/status/2007810888166961549">posted</a> “orange or green?” on X,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/mstr-coin-clsk-stocks-gain-as-crypto-shares-rally-after-bitcoin-hits-93000/cmxMJr2R4bR">teasing</a> whether the company plans to buy more Bitcoin or add to its USD reserves.
