In a major regulatory milestone in March 2026, a joint SEC and CFTC framework officially classified Dogecoin as a digital commodity, placing it in the same asset category as gold or oil.

BONE acts as the governance token, allowing holders to vote on proposals through the Doggy DAO and serving as the native gas token for the Shibarium network.

Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

Stellar's native token, XLM, is essential for maintaining network integrity by acting as an intermediary to find efficient exchange paths and preventing spam through small transaction fees and minimum account balance requirements. Unlike many other digital assets, the network has no inflation because the community voted to disable the automatic creation of new tokens. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. To maintain long-term stability, the network collects fees into a storage fund that rewards validators for keeping data on the network indefinitely.  Sui offers several advanced tools including zkLogin for easier account access and sponsored transactions that allow users to interact with apps without managing complex wallets or immediate fees. Developers can also create tailored object types that work across the entire network, which encourages innovation and deep composability. These features are designed to create a more user-friendly experience for interacting with decentralized applications and digital games.  The SUI token is central to the ecosystem, serving as the primary asset for transaction fees and on-chain utility within decentralized exchanges and lending platforms. Users participate in a proof-of-stake mechanism by locking their tokens to support validators and secure the blockchain in exchange for rewards. Additionally, token holders have a role in governance, allowing them to participate in voting on network rules and future protocol upgrades. Value moves through the system through these staking rewards and transaction fees to ensure the platform scales sustainably
