Alphabets earnings miss, slower Search and advertising growth, and heavy AI spending that pushed free cash flow negative drove the sharp selloff, despite strong Google Cloud growth. Traders are split between calling the drop an overreaction and buying the dip, and worrying that AI could pressure Search monetization and that the investment may not generate adequate returns.

Alphabet Inc - Ordinary Shares - Class C

Alphabets quarterly earnings miss and heavy AI infrastructure spending, which pressured cash flow, triggered a sharp selloff. Traders are split between concerns that AI competition is weakening Search monetization and doubts about returns on spending, and bullish arguments that rapid Cloud growth makes the drop an overreaction.

ServiceNows mixed quarterly results and softer outlook for near-term contracted revenue growth sparked a sharp selloff, with investors debating whether AI demand can offset slowing growth and high expectations. Many traders call the reaction an overreaction given the companys revenue growth and raised AI targets, while others see the outlook as a reason to reassess its valuation and software-sector risks.
