With a fixed supply cap of 21 million coins and programmatic halvings every four years that reduce miner rewards, Bitcoin is designed as a deflationary digital asset often called "digital gold." Its value stems from solving the double-spending problem without trusted intermediaries, creating the first truly scarce digital asset with censorship resistance and permissionless access that no government, corporation, or individual can control. BTCFi (Bitcoin Finance) represents emerging financial applications extending beyond Bitcoin's traditional role, with protocols like Babylon allowing Bitcoin holders to stake BTC to secure Proof of Stake chains.

The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake. The company, however, reported quarterly top and bottom-line beats.The San Francisco, California-based company reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.86 for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026, exceeding the $0.77 Finchat-compiled consensus estimate.Revenue climbed 12% year over year (YoY) to $688 million versus the average analysts’ estimate of $680.08 million and guidance of $678 million-$680 million.Among the key user metrics, remaining performance obligations (RPO) climbed 21% YoY to $4.084 billion, slowing from the 25% growth in the previous quarter. Current RPO (cRPO), which represents subscription backlog expected to be recognized over the next 12 months, totaled $2.227 billion, exceeding the guidance.The company ended the quarter with a cash position of $2.725 billion.&nbsp;“Okta had a solid start to FY26 highlighted by record operating profit and another quarter of robust free cash flow,” said Todd McKinnon, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Okta.The company’s first quarter guidance calls for revenue of $710 million to $712 million, marking a further slowdown in the YoY growth to 10%. SentinelOne Stock Slips As Lackluster Guidance Takes Sheen Off Solid Q4 Print: Retail Mood Hits Rock Bottom

Shares of SentinelOne, Inc. (S) received a price target ahead of the artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cybersecurity company’s quarterly results due after the market closes Wednesday.In his earnings preview note, JPMorgan analyst Brian Essex reduced the price target for SentinelOne stock to $27 from $33 and maintained an ‘Overweight’ rating. He attributed the price cut to a contraction in peer multiples, TheFly reported.The analyst expects the Mountain View, California-based company to report net new annual recurring revenue (ARR) just over the consensus estimates.&nbsp;ARR at the end of the third quarter was up 29% to $859.7 million.Essex also looked forward to “constructive” guidance for the fiscal year 2026.JPMorgan said its industry conversations were mixed to slightly positive for the quarter. This reinforced management's view that CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (CRWD)&nbsp; outage-related benefit is materializing in the company’s pipeline, it added.On average, analysts expect SentinelOne to report adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.01 and revenue of $222.33 million, compared to a loss of $0.02 per share and revenue of $174.2 million, respectively, for the year-ago quarter.&nbsp;The company’s guidance issued in early December called for revenue of $222 million, an adjusted gross margin of 79%, and an adjusted operating margin of a negative 3%.Among peers, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (PANW) reported a double beat for the quarter ended Jan. 2025, but the guidance was lackluster. Crowdstrike announced a Q4 beat but experienced a slowdown in revenue growth and key operational metrics. SentinelOne Stock Snags Price Target Cut Ahead Of Q4 Results: Retail Mood Stays Downbeat

JPMorgan said its industry conversations were mixed to slightly positive for the quarter but cut its price target due to a contraction in peer multiples.

(S) stock underperformed the broader market in Wednesday’s&nbsp;mid-session&nbsp;as traders reacted to two opposing catalysts, triggering strong retail activity.UBS downgraded SentinelOne, an artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity platform provider based in Mountain View, California, to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Buy’ and lowered the stock price target to $25 from $30, TheFly reported.&nbsp;At the same time, Oppenheimer initiated stock coverage with an ‘Outperform’ rating and $32 price target, a separate TheFly report said.&nbsp;UBS analysts see a more limited catalyst path through fiscal year 2026. Citing partner checks, they said win rates against CrowdStrike, Inc. (CRWD) have normalized and competitive displacements have become increasingly difficult.&nbsp;A Crowdstrike software update released in mid-July caused a global outage across Microsoft Corp. Retail Buzz Grows Around SentinelOne Stock Amid Diverging Analyst Views On Cybersecurity Company

SentinelOne, Inc. ($S) stock fell sharply in Thursday’s premarket trading after the artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity platform provider reported a bottom-line miss and slower growth for one of the key operational metrics for the fiscal year 2025 third quarter.The Mountain View, California-based company reported breakeven bottom-line result for the third quarter on a non-GAAP basis, compared to a loss per share of $0.03 for the year-ago quarter. However, it missed the $0.01 per share consensus estimate.Revenue climbed 28% year-over-year (YoY) to $210.6 million, exceeding the $209.73 million consensusAmong operational metrics, annualized recurring revenue (ARR) climbed 29% YoY to $859.7 million as of Oct. 31, 2024, slower than the 33% growth in the second quarter. Customers with ARR of $100,000 or more rose 24% to 1,310.Non-GAAP gross margin improved slightly from 79% in the year-ago quarter to 80%, and non-GAAP operating margin was a negative 5%, better than the negative 11% number for the year-ago quarter.The company said it delivered positive free cash flow on a trailing twelve-month basis, a key milestone toward sustained profitability.SentinelOne had cash, cash equivalents, and investments of $1.1 billion at the end of the quarter.Tomer Weingarten, CEO of SentinelOne, said, “Our Q3 results demonstrate strong execution and business momentum.
