Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Chart Industries (GTLS) and Flowserve (FLS) announced on Wednesday that they plan to merge in an all-stock deal, creating a $19 billion industrial equipment provider.Shares of Chart Industries rose more than 5% in pre-market trade, while Flowserve declined by over 2.6%.Flowserve, a major supplier of pumps, valves, and seals for industries such as chemicals and water treatment, had a market capitalization of about $6.6 billion as of Tuesday. Chart Industries, which manufactures equipment for handling gas and liquid molecules across energy, industrial gas, and space applications, was valued at roughly $7.2 billion.&nbsp;The combined company is forecast to have an enterprise value of $19 billion, including assumed debt.Chart shareholders would receive 3.165 shares of Flowserve for every Chart share they own. The combined company would be 53.5% owned by Chart shareholders and 46.5% by Flowserve shareholders on a fully diluted basis.Flowserve CEO Scott Rowe will lead the new entity, while Chart CEO Jill Evanko will assume the role of chair of the board. The combined company’s board will comprise 12 directors, six of whom will be from&nbsp;Chart and six from Flowserve.“Combining Chart and Flowserve creates a comprehensive solutions platform with the financial strength and operational resilience to drive sustained growth,”&nbsp;said Evanko.She said the deal is expected to deliver significant long-term benefits, including strong cash flow, operational synergies, and a larger aftermarket opportunity. “The combined company will be well-positioned to deliver durable value to shareholders,” she added.The companies said the combined entity will address the full customer lifecycle from process design through aftermarket support, allowing it to better compete with larger rivals such as Dover (DOV) and Ingersoll Rand (IR).It said that the key advantage of the deal lies in the expanded aftermarket business. With a combined installed base of over 5.5 million assets, the company anticipates generating approximately 42% of its revenue from services and recurring parts sales.&nbsp;Executives expect to grow that base further through the companies’ broader global footprint and enhanced service offerings.The companies also project approximately $300 million in annual cost savings within three years. These would come from supply chain efficiencies, overlapping facility closures, and&nbsp;the elimination of duplicate public company costs.&nbsp;Commercial revenue synergies are also anticipated to lift overall sales by at least 2%.Management also said it expects to maintain Flowserve’s dividend payout level while gradually reducing leverage and enhancing long-term profitability.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GTLS">Chart’s stock</a> has fallen more than 16% this year but gained around 2% over the past 12 months. The decision was based on both updated near-term data observations that showed an upside for the quarter and a macro view of the business, said the report.Gordon Haskett raised its Q3 earnings per share forecast to $2.10 from $1.79 and its FY25 and FY26 EPS forecasts to $14.30 and $16.20, respectively, added the report.Wall Street analysts expect Casey’s to post earnings per share of $2.06 on revenue of $3.76 billion, according to Stocktwits data.Last month, BMO Capital resumed coverage of Casey's General Stores with a 'Market Perform' rating with a price target of $450, up from $400, Fly.com reported. &nbsp;According to the firm, Casey's had executed exceptionally well on several fronts in recent years, driving same-store sales outperformance relative to convenience-store peers, added the report.&nbsp;Sentiment on Stocktwits inched up in the ‘bullish’ one. Wall Street analysts expect Casey’s to post earnings per share of $2.06 on revenue of $3.76 billion, according to Stocktwits data. 

Shares of e.l.f. Beauty Inc. fell more than 26% in pre-market trade on Friday after the company’s third-quarter earnings that fell short on EPS estimates, but retail sentiment firmly positive.For the third quarter, e.l.f Beauty posted EPS of $0.74, missing estimates of $0.76, according to Stocktwits data. Revenues came in at $355.32 million, beating Wall Street expectations of $330.4 million.For Q3, net sales increased 40% to $980.9 million, primarily driven by strength in both retailer and e-commerce channels, in the U.S. and in &nbsp;international markets. Its SG&amp;A expenses increased $220.7 million to $584.9 million, or 60% of net sales. The increase was prompted by a rise in marketing and digital spend, compensation and benefits, operations costs, among other expenses.e.l.f. Beauty also lowered its fiscal 2025 outlook. e.l.f. Beauty now expects earnings per share between $3.27 and $3.32, compared with the previous guidance of $3.47 and $3.53.“We believe we are still in the early innings of unlocking the whitespace we see across digital, color cosmetics, skin care and international,” Tarang Amin, e.l.f. Beauty’s chairman and CEO, said.Adjusted net income is now projected to $193 million-$196 million compared to the earlier forecast of $205 million and $208 million.“Given softer-than-expected trends in January, we are taking a prudent approach and lowering our outlook for the final quarter of our fiscal year. Our updated outlook for fiscal 2025 reflects an expected 27-28% year-over-year increase in net sales, as compared to an expected 28-30% increase previously,” said Mandy Fields, e.l.f.
