$IMXI Western Union and International Money Express (Intermex) stated they intend to engage promptly with the #DFPI to seek reinstatement!

$IMXI Well this recent drop has been disappointing, and most likely not related to the merger. In fact, I refreshed myself on the prices/volumes prior to the August 14th post New York approval massive rally and I found the same pattern (and I made good money on 1000's of shares on August 14th). Bottom line is that we all do not know where IMXI is going to bottom out prior to the final approved merger...and we do not know what is exactly driving the price action. What we do know is that WU management last indicated complete commitment to the merger, New York (the hardest approval hurdle) approved it, the whole rest of the world outside California approved it and now California are just re-approving it. I am carefully watching and swinging it weekly in hopes of catching the next big "2nd bite of the apple" surge up to $16 buyout price. Keep in mind that WU has to pay over $27 million reverse termination fee if merger fails approval. View this IMXI price dip as a way to make more....

$IMXI MORE > International Money Express, Inc. (IMXI) and Western Union each filed new Premerger Notification and Report Forms under the HSR Act on October 2, 2026, for their proposed merger. The filing starts a new 30-day waiting period, and both companies requested early termination. The prior HSR waiting period expired on October 6, 2025, and its clearance is effective for one year; a new filing is required for the merger to close after October 6, 2026. The companies continue discussions with the DFPI about reinstating its approval, and based on those discussions they do not expect reinstatement before October 6, 2026. The merger remains subject to expiration or termination of the new HSR waiting period, reinstatement of DFPI approval, and satisfaction or waiver of the other merger-agreement conditions. Under the agreement, Merger Sub would merge into International Money Express, which would survive as a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Union.

$IMXI CA gains nothing by not approving … you would think they asked similar things as NY did, and I really wonder and don’t understand why this is taking so long … is WU actually moving to get deal done with CA? or just delaying for time to run out?? thoughts please

$IMXI FYI - Wall Street analysts (including Citi) note that while Western Union and Intermex are still pushing hard to finalize the deal, the timeline has been pushed back to a target date no later than November 10. Citi lowered its price target on Western Union to reflect this heightened "deal uncertainty," but Citi maintains that the core commercial logic remains intact. In fact, deal synergies are tracking even higher than the initial $30 million estimate, which helps Western Union offset Intermex’s currently weak standalone financial performance.

$IMXI Abandon ship? or double up? It’s a 50% premium if you believe the merger is going threw….but idk. Thoughts?
