Many of these companies remain relatively unknown and are still in early development stages, often limited to testing environments within the U.S.“We think we are ahead,” Fink said, pointing to Swarmer’s traction in real-world deployments, particularly overseas.On the other side are larger, well-capitalized players building vertically integrated systems. These companies control hardware, operating systems, and autonomy layers, offering a tightly coupled product but limiting flexibility across different platforms.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Cost And Scale Drive Adoption In Conflict Zones</h2>Fink said cost remains a critical differentiator, especially in active conflict zones like Ukraine. Vertically integrated systems, often built in the U.S., tend to be more expensive, which can limit large-scale deployment in cost-sensitive environments. “We can run with most of them,” he told Stocktwits, adding that this flexibility allows Swarmer to scale faster and gather more operational data.&nbsp;By contrast, Swarmer’s software is designed to run on lower-cost drones, including those manufactured locally in Ukraine. Large companies are historically not very good at creating paradigm-shifting technologies,” Fink said. “They're good at iterating on what they already have. Systems that perform well in the field generate more data, which in turn improves performance and increases the likelihood of further deployment.“You deploy in real combat, you gather more data. He stated that Swarmer’s software is designed to work across a wide range of hardware systems rather than being tied to a single vendor.“If we're able to support many different types of hardware and unify them into groups that can work with each other without having to do anything because we did all the work, then I think that gives us certain protection,” he said.&nbsp;Fink added that the approach contrasts with traditional defense models, in which companies often build vertically integrated systems that lock customers into their own ecosystems or into approved partners.“We are betting on this vendor-agnostic interoperable model. It was above analyst expectations of $23.9 million, according to Stocktwits data.The company’s net loss per share of $0.17 during the quarter was&nbsp;narrower than $0.33 loss per share from the year-ago quarter.
