Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar described two “swim lanes” for AI growth — in software automation and “agentic AI” for enterprise operations.</li><li>He said AI should enhance rather than replace human labor, calling it an “equalizer.</li><li>Cognizant is also weighing a potential India listing to boost shareholder value.</li></ul>Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTSH) is turning a corner in its AI-driven transformation,&nbsp;CEO Ravi Kumar said Wednesday, describing how artificial intelligence is reshaping both the company’s business model and its workforce.Speaking with CNBC, Kumar&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/video/2025/10/29/cognizant-ceo-ai-being-used-to-displace-human-capital-is-a-mistake.html">said</a> Cognizant has moved “to the upper end” of its revenue and margin guidance after a strong year of execution. “We are transitioning from a system integrator to an AI builder company,” he said, noting that investments in AI infrastructure are now flowing toward front-end applications that help enterprises reinvent operations.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/CTSH">Cognizant’s stock</a> rose nearly 7% in afternoon trade, paring gains after hitting an almost three-month intraday high of $75.67,&nbsp;following the announcement of the company’s third quarter (Q3) earnings.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Two ‘Swim Lanes’ For AI Growth</h2>Kumar described two “swim lanes” of opportunity during the interview. The first centers on AI-assisted software development, where machines now write a measurable share of code. “As you do more for less, you actually get to do more because technology is elastic,” he said, arguing that AI can expand, not shrink, software demand.The second area focuses on what Kumar called “agentic AI,” applying large-scale enterprise AI systems to reimagine business processes and workflows. “You can create digital labor,” he said, combining human and AI agents to boost productivity across industries.<h2 class="st-heading-2">AI Will Not Displace Human Capital</h2>Despite broader concerns that AI could replace workers, Kumar said Cognizant is using the technology to expand hiring and upskill younger recruits. “If AI technology is used to displace human capital, that’s a mistake,” he said. “AI is an amplifier to human potential.”The company has doubled its intake of school graduates this year, he added, saying early-career employees are seeing the largest productivity gains from AI tools. “At the bottom of the pyramid, you get great value,” Kumar said. “The bottom 50 percentile actually gets 37% productivity gains, while the top 50 gets 17%. AI is an equalizer.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">Cognizant Q3 Earnings</h2>Cognizant reported earnings of $5.42 billion, beating analysts' estimate of $5.32 billion, according to Koyfin data. Cognizant CEO Reportedly Touts Transition To ‘AI Builder’ As Stock Rises After Q3 Results

It is now the fourth-best-performing S&amp;P 500 stock this year.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Seagate Receives Big Price Target Bump After Q1</h2>Following the quarterly results released after the market closed on Tuesday, Baird analyst Tristan Gerra lifted the price target for the stock to $270 from $188, implying 21% upside from its Monday’s closing price of $223.&nbsp;Baird retained an ‘Outperform’ rating and kept the company among its top three large-cap ideas, citing secular margin expansion and free cash flow (FCF) generation, strong artificial intelligence (AI)-related demand, and the company's overall fundamental transformation away from commoditized offerings.Gerra noted that margin expansion is ongoing, with the fiscal-year 2026 first-quarter margin exceeding the 50% target due to the pace of customer qualification and contract signing. He noted that revenue per terabyte (TB) has remained stable over the past several quarters despite a significant shift in the mix toward higher-capacity drives.The management did not provide any indication of alleviation of current supply/demand imbalances for the next four quarters, with supply growth ahead contingent on the migration to Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR)-based, higher-capacity drives and no plans for unit capacity increases, Gerra said.
