Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd on Tuesday (October 21) said it delivered over 1 lakh vehicles in 30 days from Navratri to Diwali, a growth of 33%  over the same period last year. 
 
The deliveries were led by SUVs with electric vehicles also showing strong traction, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd Managing Director and CEO Shailesh Chandra said in a statement. 
 
"Over the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali, we have achieved a landmark milestone with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries, reflecting a robust 33% growth compared to the same period last year,” he said.

Chandra further said, ”Our SUVs continue to lead this momentum with the Nexon registering over 38,000 retails, an impressive 73% growth, while the Punch clocked 32,000 units, growing 29% year-on-year.” The company’s EV portfolio also showed strong traction, with over 10,000 EVs retailed during this period, marking a 37% growth, he said. 
 
”Our full portfolio of cars and SUVs has supported this surge further…,” Chandra said. The festive performance sets the tone for the rest of the fiscal, especially as the company gears up for new launches this year, complemented by sustained customer enthusiasm, he added.

Coca-Cola Co. posted third-quarter sales growth that beat Wall Street expectations — a sign that consumers are snapping up the company’s beverages despite higher prices. Atlanta-based Coca-Cola reported organic revenue growth of 6%, topping the average of analyst estimates. Adjusted earnings per share also outpaced expectations. 
 
The results point to Coca-Cola winning over shoppers with its widening portfolio of beverages, including sugar-free soda, sports drinks and water, as consumers shift away from traditional full-calorie soft drinks and toward healthier options. Coca-Cola Zero Sugar grew 14%, driven by growth across all regions, the company said. 
 
"There’s more and more focus on people wanting to live a healthier, more balanced lifestyle, and Coke Zero, Diet Coke, etc. fit more into that equation,” Chief Financial Officer John Murphy said in an interview Tuesday morning. 
 
The company is also beginning a phased roll-out of Coke made with American cane sugar in glass bottles, Murphy said. The introduction will be somewhat measured because of limited supplies of cane sugar in the US, he said.

"If you look at the success of Mexican Coke in the United States, it’s a combination of the product and the package, and we’re very keen to offer that same combination,” Murphy said. 
 
New Coke 
 
Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump announced the company planned to unveil a new Coke product made with US cane sugar. For decades, Coca-Cola has used high fructose corn syrup, which is cheaper than cane sugar, to sweeten its signature product in the US. However, a pricier version of the soft drink, imported from Mexico, uses cane sugar and has gained a following. 
 
Shares of Coca-Cola rose as much as 3.7% in premarket trading. The stock has gained almost 10% this year through Monday’s close, compared with a nearly 15% increase in the S&amp;P 500 Index.

The company’s price mix, or what it charges across a range of products, gained 6% in the quarter, higher than analysts’ average estimate. Smaller-sized bottles and cans are also helping to drive sales as grocery competition intensifies and the cost of living rises. 
 
Global Results 
 
Overall unit case volume rose 1%, driven by growth in Central Asia, North Africa, Brazil and the United Kingdom. The company reiterated its full-year guidance of comparable earnings per share growth of approximately 3%. 
 
Earlier Tuesday, one of the world’s largest Coca-Cola bottlers agreed to buy a controlling stake in another, creating a bottling giant in Africa in a transaction valued at about $2.6 billion. It’s another step in Coca-Cola’s move away from the business of bottling, which includes selling a stake in its Indian bottling operations this year.

Coca-Cola beats estimates with price hikes, low-sugar drinks

Airbnb Inc is expanding its ambitions beyond vacation rentals as it seeks to become the “Amazon for travel services,” with plans to bring independent hotels onto its platform and deepen its presence in India, Chief Executive Brian Chesky said in an interview with CNBC-TV18. 
 
The San Francisco-based company, which built a travel empire by leveraging people’s homes, spare bedrooms and holiday properties, is now focusing on becoming a one-stop shop for global travel. Chesky said Airbnb aims to capture a larger share of the travel services economy, which he believes could eventually rival the retail sector in scale. 
 
India, one of the world’s fastest-growing travel markets, is central to that vision. Chesky said the country is a “big bet” for Airbnb and could soon become its largest market, as rising disposable incomes and digital adoption drive a new generation of travellers toward online booking platforms. The company plans to onboard independent hotels to broaden its inventory and appeal to a wider audience. 
 
Despite a recovery in global travel demand, Chesky acknowledged he is not fully satisfied with Airbnb’s current growth rate. He said the company’s “Experiences” segment - which offers local tours, activities, and workshops - is growing faster than its core home-rental business and will play a bigger role in its future strategy. 
 
Chesky also weighed in on the growing influence of artificial intelligence, saying that its long-term impact on technology and travel remains underappreciated. He described AI valuations as “frothy” and warned that technology companies that ignore AI risk being left behind. 
 
Reflecting on the changing nature of the tech landscape, Chesky said Silicon Valley has evolved over the past decade and a half into a more “political, divided and mature” ecosystem.

Technology consulting and digital solutions company <a class="stockpage_articles" href="https://www.cnbctv18.com/market/stocks/ltimindtree-share-price/LI12/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LTIMindtree Ltd</a> on Tuesday (October 21) announced that Nachiket Deshpande, President and Whole-time Director of LTIMindtree, has resigned from his position to explore new opportunities beyond the company. 
 
He will be relieved from his duties after the close of business hours on October 31, 2025. The company, in a regulatory filing, said it has received Deshpande’s resignation letter via email. LTIMindtree placed on record its appreciation for his contributions during his tenure. 
 
In his resignation letter, Deshpande stated, “After seven remarkable years with LTIMindtree, first as Chief Operating Officer and most recently as President of AI Services, I have decided to step down from my role and formally tender my resignation, with my last working day as October 31, 2025."

LTIMindtree whole-time director and president of AI services Nachiket Deshpande quits

Private equity majors Kedaara Capital and Blackstone have submitted bids to acquire around 20 percent stake in Axis Finance, the non-banking finance arm of <a class="stockpage_articles" href="https://www.cnbctv18.com/market/stocks/axis-bank-share-price/AB16/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Axis Bank</a>, multiple sources told CNBC-TV18. 
 
A strategic player is also said to be in the fray. The proposed deal, sources said, has been scaled down from an earlier plan to sell up to 50 percent stake for about $800 million–$1 billion, to a smaller transaction of 20 percent for roughly $350–400 million. 
 
Earlier, investors including Advent International, EQT, Warburg Pincus, and Kedaara Capital had evaluated a potential investment in Axis Finance. Both Axis Bank and the private equity firms did not respond to CNBC-TV18’s queries. 
 
Axis Finance has drawn strong investor interest on the back of robust financial performance and steady growth across its lending verticals. The company operates five key business lines — corporate loans, real estate funding, collateralised lending, MSME, and retail funding.

As of March 2025, Axis Finance reported a profit after tax of ₹676 crore, up 11 percent year-on-year, with assets under finance of ₹39,000 crore. The company contributed 38 percent to Axis Bank’s total subsidiary earnings. 
 
Its AUM grew 22 percent year-on-year, while the loan book expanded at a CAGR of about 31 percent between FY22 and FY25. Asset quality has remained healthy with net NPAs at 0.37 percent and a capital adequacy ratio of 20.9 percent. The company reported a return on equity of 14.5 percent in FY25. 
 
During its latest earnings call, Axis Bank management said that Axis Finance could be classified as an Upper Layer NBFC in the future under the Reserve Bank of India’s scale-based regulatory framework. However, management clarified there was no specific timeline for when that reclassification might occur. 
 
Axis Bank also said that any decision regarding Axis Finance, whether a stake sale or an IPO, will be guided by the company’s capital requirements and will depend on regulatory approvals from the RBI.

Hyderabad-based drugmaker Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. has informed stock exchanges that its manufacturing facility in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, has received a Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) status from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). 
 
The company said it received the Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) on October 20, 2025. The USFDA classified the inspection outcome as VAI and concluded that the inspection is officially closed. 
 
Earlier, Dr. Reddy's had reported a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspection and a Pre-Approval Inspection (PAI) conducted by the USFDA at its formulations facility. 
 
A Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) status means that objectionable conditions or practices were found at the facility, but the agency (USFDA) is not prepared to take or recommend any administrative or regulatory action. It is lower than the Official Action Indicated (OAI) status, which means regulatory and / or administrative actions are recommended. 
 
Shares of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. settled 2.10% higher at ₹1,282.40 on Monday, though the stock is still down 6% so far in 2025.

Dr. Reddy's gets USFDA's Establishment Inspection Report for Andhra facility

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories said it received the Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) on October 20, 2025. The USFDA classified the inspection outcome as VAI and concluded that the inspection is officially closed.

Bengaluru-based Ola Electric has issued a clarificatory statement after the company executives, along with company CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, were booked by Bengaluru Police for abetment to suicide of a former employee. 
 
In an exchange filing, the company issued a clarification denying any wrongdoing. In the statement, the EV maker said, during his tenure, Mr. Aravind (a former employee who died under mysterious circumstances) never raised any complaint or grievance regarding his employment. 
 
Ola stated that the 38-year-old's role also did not involve any direct interaction with the company’s top management, including the promoter, Bhavish Aggarwal. 
 
Referring to the action taken by the Bengaluru Police, the company said it has challenged the registration of FIR in the Karnataka High Court, and it has obtained protective orders that have been passed in favour of Ola Electric and its officials. 
 
The company also added that no chargesheet has been filed against Ola Electric or its officials. 
 
The Bengaluru Police filed an FIR after the former employee died under nebulous circumstances on September 28. Later on, the deceased's family approached the police with a 'suicide note' that allegedly accused Aggarwal and Ola official Subrata Kumar Das of mental harassment. 
 
In its statement, the company further added that it has issued 'full and final settlement' to Aravind’s bank account. Furthermore, the company said that it is fully cooperating with the authorities in their ongoing investigation.

Insurers overseeing $23 trillion plan to add even more to their private market holdings as part of a strategy to smooth long-term returns, according to a BlackRock Inc. survey. 
 
Of 463 senior insurance executives surveyed by BlackRock, 93% said they expect to increase their exposure to private assets in response to market movements over the next 12 months. Investment-grade private credit, including infrastructure debt and private placements, remains a preferred asset class. 
 
Only 3% expect to reduce private investments, according to the survey published Monday. 
 
Insurers have been embracing alternative assets for years, and private equity firms have been buying insurance firms to fuel the growth of private credit. The expansion has drawn scrutiny from lawmakers, who have flagged potential risks in the $1.7 trillion market, including defaults, potentially inflated ratings of private debt instruments and fewer reporting requirements compared to banks. 
 
For their part, insurance executives said they’re enticed more by the potential for diversification and lower volatility than they are by the prospect of higher returns at the moment, BlackRock said in the survey. Their top concern about picking private assets is their liquidity. 
 
“The appetite for private assets has remained persistently high,” Mark Erickson, global insurance strategist of BlackRock’s financial institutions group, said in an interview. “This allocation or shift to private markets is more of a secular, structural shift.” 
 
While larger insurance companies, especially life insurers, have been pouring money into private credit for years, some smaller firms are shifting now, too — adding broad baskets of alternative assets, the report found. 
 
Insurers turned more to the private markets in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, when interest rates were near-zero. That raised questions about whether they would cut down on those holdings in a different environment, according to Erickson. 
 
The past few years of higher interest rates have provided a “resounding answer” to those questions, with insurers adding more private assets rather than paring back, he said. 
 
“This is not a low-rate driven shift,” Erickson said.

BlackRock says insurers expect to keep ramping up private bets

For their part, insurance executives said they’re enticed more by the potential for diversification and lower volatility than they are by the prospect of higher returns at the moment, BlackRock said in the survey. Their top concern about picking private assets is their liquidity.

Apple Inc.'s shares climbed to a record high on Monday after early data showed that its latest iPhone 17 lineup is outperforming last year's iPhone 16 in key markets. 
 
According to market research firm Counterpoint, initial sales in the US and China—Apple's two largest markets—are about 14% higher than those of the iPhone 16 series during the same launch period. The stronger demand has been attributed to improved camera technology, a more energy-efficient chip, and early adoption of Apple's new AI features. 
 
The surge comes as Apple looks to revive smartphone growth amid slowing global demand. In China, where local rival Huawei has regained market share, early indicators suggest Apple's promotional pricing and trade-in programs have helped sustain momentum. 
 
Shares of Apple rose more than 4% in intraday trading, touching an all-time high, extending gains from earlier this quarter. Analysts believe the performance signals investor confidence that the company's upgrade cycle and AI integration could boost earnings through 2026.
