Its transition to Proof of Stake in September 2022 reduced energy consumption by over 99%, addressing environmental concerns while strengthening network security.  The network operates through thousands of independent validator nodes that process transactions and execute smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Smart contracts are self-executing programs written in Solidity that automatically carry out agreements when conditions are met, eliminating intermediaries like banks or brokers.   Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. While revenue came in slightly below the analysts’ consensus estimate of $4.273 billion, adjusted EPS met the consensus estimate of $2.8, according to Fiscal AI data.&nbsp;"We're very pleased by the strength we're seeing across our portfolio as consumers continue to prioritize our vacation experiences," said Naftali Holtz, CFO, Royal Caribbean Group.For the first-quarter FY2026, the company expects net yields to increase between 2.4% and 2.9% and adjusted EPS to be in the range of $3.18 to $3.28. Royal Caribbean CEO Flags Historic Booking Momentum Heading Into 2026

The movie, released worldwide on Dec. 19, is the third in the Avatar franchise and the fourth by director James Cameron to cross that threshold.“The milestone makes Avatar: Fire and Ash the third film in the franchise to surpass $1 billion globally, establishing Avatar among the most elite franchises in cinema history,” Disney said in a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/avatar-fire-and-ash-1-billion/">statement</a> on Sunday. Expedia Gets Price-Target Hikes After Strong Q2, Outlook Raise: Retail Extremely Bullish

Shares of the online travel company rose 5.5% on Monday, higher than the 4% gains on Friday following its quarterly report.

(CAVA) shares fell over 22% in after-hours trading on Tuesday, after the Mediterranean-style restaurant chain missed comparable sales estimates for the second quarter and lowered its view for the full year.If the losses hold in Wednesday's session, it would mark the stock's worst session decline on record. <a href="https://stocktwits.com/RoggyLin/message/624775529">Cava</a> was among the top five trending tickers on Stocktwits late Tuesday.The performance is another indicator of the softness in the restaurant sector, as high inflation and economic uncertainty prompt consumers to curb dining out.Cava was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in June 2023. As of their last close, its shares are down about 50% from their all-time high in November 2024, and 25% down year-to-date.The company now expects same-store sales growth of 4% to 6% this year, down from its prior range of 6% to 8%.In the second quarter, revenue rose 20% to $280.6 million, just shy of analysts' estimate of $285.5 million.
