The Insurance-as-a-Service segment earns a portion of the premiums paid to it for the risk the company retains as well as generates investment income. The Hippo Home Insurance Program segment involves the Hippo-branded homeowners insurance business. The company was founded by Assaf Wand on January 10, 2015 and is headquartered in San Jose, CA.
