Rival General Motors issued 27 recalls in the meantime.</p><p>The Dearborn-based automaker issued recalls this year to fix concerns over its electrical system, back over prevention, powertrain, exterior lighting, suspension and more. The company most recently recalled over 45,000 of its Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles over concerns that the Light Driver Control Module B (LDCMB) may fail, preventing the turn signals, daytime running lights, low beam, and high beam headlights from illuminating.</p><p>In October, it recalled nearly 1.5 million vehicles including certain Flex, Explorer, Lincoln MKT, Lincoln MKZ, C-Max, Escape, Taurus, Fusion, Fiesta, and Mustang vehicles, citing concerns that the rearview camera may display a a distorted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse. Dealers will inspect and replace the camera as necessary to fix the issue, the company then said.</p><p>In comparison, Tesla issued 11 recalls in the U.S. this year, a vast majority of which were fixed via over-the-air software updates.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Ford Executives Flag Concerns</h2><p>During Ford’s second quarter earnings in July, chief operating officer Kumar Galhotra admitted that the company is “not satisfied with the current level of recalls or the number of vehicles impacted.”</p><p>In a more recent earnings call in October, Galhotra said that the company has radically improved launch quality over the past two years in a bid to reduce recalls and is conducting rigorous engineering reviews to find and fix issues.</p><p>“It takes time for these improvements to improve our recall numbers, as older models have to work their way out of the system. We're already seeing our recall costs shift towards more aged vehicles. Since the peak recall period is in years three to five, we expect a meaningful improvement soon,” he said.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Other Focuses and Pivots</h2><p>Besides committing to reduce recalls, Ford earlier this month <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/gene-munster-calls-ford-s-19-5-b-ev-retreat-good-news-for-tesla-as-legacy-automaker-scales-back/cLe7qsCREoU">decided</a> to pull back on electric vehicles and said that it expects to incur $19.5 billion in EV-related charges as it kills several EV models to stem losses from the segment. (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/RTX">RTX</a>) business unit, has won a $1.7 billion contract to supply four Patriot air and missile defense systems to Spain, the company said on Tuesday.</p><p>The contract marks Spain’s largest Patriot order to date and will include radars, launchers, command-and-control stations, and training equipment. Shares of RTX were up nearly 1% on Tuesday morning at the time of writing.</p><p>Patriot, short for Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target, is used in air defense strategies in 19 countries, the company said. It is a ground-based air and missile defense system used to defend against long-range cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and other air threats.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Global Network</h2><p>Raytheon has partnered with local defense companies in Spain, including Sener, to secure components like the electro-mechanical control system used in the GEM-T missile as part of Patriot’s global supply chain network. "Modernizing air and missile defense is vital to Spain's security and sovereignty. Raytheon's work with the Spanish government and local industry will help ensure readiness against evolving threats," said Pete Bata, senior vice president of Global Patriot at Raytheon.</p><p>Spain’s contract comes even as countries like Germany, the Netherlands, and Romania have beefed up orders for Patriot systems in 2025. (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/TSLA">TSLA</a>) struggled to boost its car sales in the European market in November 2025, even as Chinese competitors like BYD surged ahead.</p><p>According to the latest data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA), Tesla reported 12,130 new vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) for November 2025, a 34% decline from 18,430 in the same period last year.</p><p>Across the European region, including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (EU + EFTA + U.K.), Tesla’s November sales declined 11.8% to 22,801 new registrations from 25,840 for the same period last year.</p><p>Meanwhile, Chinese rivals BYD and SAIC Motors recorded 221.8% and 20.9% growth in new registrations across Europe for the same period.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">European Market Pressure</h2><p>Growing competition and pressure from new players are shrinking Tesla’s market share across Europe, which is already dominated by local players. The American EV maker is also facing increasing competition from Chinese counterparts who are rolling out more fully electric models across the region.</p><p>The latest data from ACEA showed that Tesla’s market share in Europe is down to 2.1% for the month, down from 2.5%. At the same time, BYD’s market share grew to 2% from 0.6% while SAIC Motors held a 2.2% share, up from 1.9% in the same period last year.</p><p>Tesla’s European market struggles come even as the region's overall electric car market is growing. As per ACEA, battery-electric cars captured 16.9% of the EU market share from January to November 2025, up from 13.4% for the same period in 2024.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Big Picture</h2><p>Tesla’s European tailwinds come as the company’s shares recently pulled back from record highs, and Wall Street analysts have grown cautious about the company. UBS cut its estimate for Tesla’s fourth quarter deliveries to about 415,000 vehicles from 429,000 and maintained a ‘Sell’ rating on the stock with a $247 price target. Deutsche Bank also expects Tesla to miss its fourth-quarter deliveries.</p><p>Tesla’s autonomy ambitions are in focus as the company pushes deeper into full self-driving cars and robotaxis that are already available in some markets, including the U.S., Canada, and China. Tesla EU Sales Slump 34% In November As BYD Surges Ahead

Tesla reported a 34% decline in new vehicle registrations in the European Union for Nov. 2025, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>According to a report, AIG’s competitor, Chubb, approached the firm with an informal offer to acquire it; however, both Chubb and AIG denied the reports.</li><li>Citi maintained its ‘Neutral’ rating on AIG and assigned an $85 price target.</li><li>Piper Sandler raised its price target on the stock to $95 from $88 and maintained an ‘Overweight’ rating.</li></ul><p>American International Group (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AIG">AIG</a>) stock drew investor attention on Monday after Citi analysts noted that merging with another large insurer would not benefit AIG.</p><p>According to TheFly, Citi analysts wrote in a research note that they expect American International Group (AIG) to continue acquiring more firms rather than being acquired. Citi believes integration and revenue dyssynergies would likely overwhelm any potential cost savings from a large-scale transaction. The firm maintained a ‘Neutral’ rating on the shares, with an $85 price target.</p><p>Earlier in the month, an Insurance Insider US <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.insuranceinsiderus.com/article/2fpahsm5la3on7eapsfsw/all-topics/m-a/chubb-made-informal-takeover-approach-for-aig?zephr_sso_ott=LTYHsi">report</a> indicated that Chubb had approached AIG with an informal acquisition offer. However, both firms have reportedly <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.insurancenews.com.au/international/aig-not-for-sale-amid-reports-of-rival-s-interest">denied</a> the same, according to Insurance News.&nbsp;</p><p>In another note, Piper Sandler raised its price target on AIG to $95 from $88 and maintained an Overweight rating. The firm expects favorable weather to mean most insurers will report strong or even stronger-than-expected results, but pricing commentary will likely be more pessimistic.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Expansion Amidst Streamlining Operations</h2><p>AIG’s CEO, Peter Zaffino, has been streamlining its operations since taking the reins in 2021 by selling its global personal travel business, and continues to make acquisitions and investments to make AIG into a more capital-aligned company.</p><p>AIG recently announced it will invest around $5 billion in specialty insurer Convex and asset manager Onex Corporation. As part of the deal, AIG acquired a 35% stake in Convex for $2.1 billion. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The company said on Thursday that the spin-off of its Freight unit into a new publicly traded company is continuing.</li><li>The company’s Q2 revenue and earnings beat estimates.&nbsp;</li><li>FedEx hiked the lower end of its fiscal year 2026 earnings guidance.</li></ul><p>FedEx on Thursday reported second-quarter (Q2) earnings and revenue above Wall Street expectation and lifted its full year earnings outlook as it continues with its cost reduction efforts, causing the stock to edge 2% higher after hours.</p><p>The package delivery company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20251218830132/en/FedEx-Reports-Strong-Second-Quarter-Earnings-Growth-Year-Over-Year">reported</a> revenue of $23.5 billion for the quarter, as compared to $22 billion in the corresponding quarter of last year, and above a Wall Street estimate of $22.8 billion &nbsp;</p><p>Adjusted earnings per share came in at $4.82, above an estimated $4.11.</p><p>"We successfully executed our growth strategy and advanced our network transformation, while navigating a highly challenging external environment," CEO Raj Subramaniam said.</p><p>The company said that its Express operations results improved in the quarter on higher U.S. domestic and International Priority package yields, continued cost savings, lower business optimization costs, and increased U.S. domestic package volume. However, the company also flagged headwinds from global trade policy changes, higher wage rates and increased purchased transportation rates.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Freight Segment Spinoff</h2><p>The company said on Thursday that the spin-off of its Freight unit into a new publicly traded company is continuing. The spin off is expected to be executed on June 1, 2026 and once separate, FedEx Freight will operate as a separate public company listed on the New York Stock exchange. &nbsp;</p><p>In the second quarter, Freight segment results decreased due to lower shipments, higher wage rates, and the hiring of additional sales professionals in preparation for the company's spin-off. The segment also incurred spin-off related costs of $152 million in the quarter.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Share Repurchase</h2><p>The company said that it completed $276 million in share repurchases via the open market in the quarter. The company repurchased about 1.2 million shares, benefitting second quarter results by $0.05 per diluted share.</p><p>The company now intends to continue evaluating repurchasing additional shares during the remainder of fiscal 2026.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Outlook</h2><p>The company now expects fiscal 2026 revenue growth rate of 5-6%, up from its previous forecast of 4-6%. Adjusted and diluted earnings per share is expected to be $17.80 to $19.00 per share, up from the previously expected $17.20 to $19.00 range. FedEx Stock Jumps After Hours As Solid Q2 Lifts Full Year Outlook; $1B Cost-Cut Plan For Year Intact

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Under the DOJ resolution, the companies will divest two natural gas plants, York 2 in Pennsylvania and Jack Fusco in Texas.</li><li>The companies had already offered to divest four of Calpine’s power plants in the Mid-Atlantic region as part of a separate agreement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.</li><li>The acquisition, involving both stock and cash payments, would create the country’s largest power fleet.</li></ul><p>Constellation (CEG) on Friday said that it has cleared the final regulatory step to complete the $16.4 billion acquisition of Calpine Corporation announced earlier this year in a bid to create the country’s largest power fleet.</p><p>The company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.constellationenergy.com/newsroom/2025/12/constellation-reaches-resolution-with-us-department-of-justice-for-calpine-transaction.html">said</a> that it has reached a resolution with the U.S. Department of Justice on the conditions required to complete the acquisition.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">The Settlement</h2><p>As part of the resolution, Constellation has agreed to divest multiple assets including York 2, a 828-megawatt natural gas-fired, combined-cycle plant in Pennsylvania, as well as the Jack Fusco Energy Center, a 605-megawatt natural gas fired combined cycle facility located outside Houston, Texas.</p><p>The company also agreed to divest a minority ownership interest in the Gregory Power Plant, a 385-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle near Corpus Christi, Texas. Constellation expects to receive attractive value for the sale of the assets. Constellation and Calpine can begin to close the transaction once the court has signed the stipulation and order agreed to by them and DOJ.</p><p>DOJ said that the settlement resolves the Antitrust division’s concerns that the acquisition would harm competition and lead to higher prices on consumers reliant on the ERCOT and PJM electricity grids.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Previous Divestment Commitments</h2><p>The company received necessary regulatory approvals from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the New York Public Service Commission and the Public Utility Commission of Texas earlier. The companies had already offered to divest four of Calpine’s power plants in the Mid-Atlantic region as part of a separate agreement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.</p><p>The acquisition involves both stock and cash payments.Together, Constellation and Calpine will have nearly 60 gigawatts of capacity from zero- and low-emission sources, including nuclear, natural gas, geothermal, hydro, wind, solar, cogeneration and battery storage, the companies said in January.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Stocktwits Users React?</h2><p><a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/CEG">CEG shares</a> closed down 3% on Friday. Constellation Clears Final DOJ Hurdle In $16.4B Calpine Takeover To Build America’s Largest Power Fleet
