Halliburton (HAL) has reportedly been reducing its staff in recent weeks, marking the latest workforce cut in the U.S. oil industry, at a time when costs are rising and oil prices remain low.Reuters <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/world-at-work/halliburton-reduces-workforce-oil-activity-slumps-sources-say-2025-09-05/">reported</a> on Friday, citing two sources familiar with the matter, that the scope of Halliburton’s layoffs was unclear. The oilfield services company implemented the cuts over several weeks, sources directly involved in the layoffs told Reuters, adding that at least three business divisions lost between 20% and 40% of their employees.Halliburton, however, did not confirm the layoffs when contacted by the news agency. The Campbell’s Company (CPB) experienced multiple price target hikes from Wall Street on Thursday, with TD Cowen citing that the packaged food maker’s annual profit guidance was less negative than initially feared, due to an acceleration of cost savings and near-term tariff mitigation.TD Cowen raised its price target to $31 from $29 and maintained a ‘Hold’ rating, according to TheFly. The firm added that the company’s fourth-quarter results were all better than expected.Retail sentiment on <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/CPB">Campbell’s</a> remained unchanged in the ‘bullish’ territory, with chatter at ‘extremely high’ levels, according to data from Stocktwits. Following the report, shares of Kraft Heinz traded over 2% higher by Friday afternoon.The Wall Street Journal <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.wsj.com/business/deals/kraft-heinz-break-up-deal-346ee8f5">reported</a> on Friday that a transaction could be announced as early as next week, citing people familiar with the matter. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that a transaction could be announced as early as next week.

Ford Motor Co (F) is recalling 355,656 trucks in the U.S., citing concerns that the instrument panel cluster may fail at startup, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday.An instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or vehicle speed, can increase the risk of a crash, the U.S. auto safety regulator <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCLRPT-25V540-5865.pdf">said</a>.The recall includes certain model year 2025-2026 trucks, including the F-550 SD, F-450 SD, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, and F-150.The company will fix the issue by updating the instrument panel cluster software through a dealer or via an over-the-air update. British government agency UK Export Finance (UKEF) on Thursday provided a £1 billion ($1.32 billion) export development guarantee to Ford U.K., a unit of U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co. (F).UKEF’s Export Development Guarantee (EDG) helps companies that export from, or plan to export from the U.K., access high-value loan facilities for general working capital or capital expenditure purposes.The new loan will help Ford continue its global transformation, engineering and manufacturing of smart, connected, and electrified vehicles for customers around the world, the agency <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-government-backs-fords-global-transformation">said</a>, while adding that it is guaranteeing 80% of the £1 billion loan provided by Citi and a syndicate of lenders.This is the third export development guarantee awarded by UKEF to Ford, taking total financing to almost £2.4 billion since 2020, of which £1.9 billion is guaranteed by UKEF.Ford operates various sites in Britain, including a research and development (R&amp;D) centre based in Essex. Dearborn-based automaker Ford Motor Co. (F) is recalling 850,318 vehicles in the U.S. owing to an issue that can result in an engine stall when driving, the U.S. auto safety regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Thursday.The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCLRPT-25V455-7716.pdf">recall</a> includes several truck and SUV models in addition to the Ford Mustang. It includes certain 2021-2023 Bronco, Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-150, and 2022 Expedition vehicles.The low-pressure fuel pump in the vehicles may fail, causing a lack of fuel delivery to the engine and resulting in an engine stall while driving, the regulator said. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash, it added.Prior to fuel pump failure, the customer may experience poor engine performance (misfiring or running rough), a check engine light, or a reduction in engine power. Fuel pump failure is more likely to occur in low fuel or warm weather and hot fuel conditions in the fuel tank, the company noted.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/F">Ford</a> said that the remedy for the issue is under development and will contact vehicle owners when it becomes available. Letters notifying owners of the safety risk, however, are expected to be mailed by July 14, the regulator said.Owners can take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the remedy performed once available at no charge.The company has also notified all Ford and Lincoln dealers not to demonstrate or deliver any new stock vehicles involved in the recall. Ford said that while it is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition, 28 field reports and 57 customer service reports related to the concerns were received as of June 24.
