The company is ramping up its production for 737 Max and 787 dreamliners in order to meet global demand.&nbsp;</p><p>Boeing also said it delivered 160 commercial planes in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with 57 it delivered in the same quarter in 2024.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Surge In Orders</h2><p>Alaska Airlines last week, placed a record order for the plane manufacturer signaling that airlines are moving ahead with Boeing orders. Alaska Airlines placed an order for 105 Boeing 737-10 aircraft and five additional 787 widebody jets.</p><p>Boeing has also been able to win several key defense deals as well as new commercial orders from across the globe including middle east airline Emirates.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Growth Outpaces Airbus</h2><p>Boeing, despite delivering fewer commercial airplanes in 2025, posted significantly higher growth figures compared to its rival Airbus who posted a 4% growth in deliveries.&nbsp;</p><p>Airbus had warned of supply issues hurting its delivery targets. US Banking Giant Citigroup To Cut 1,000 Jobs This Week: Report

The job cuts are part of the bank's plan announced two years ago to reduce staff by 20,000 before the end of 2026, Bloomberg News report said. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The settlement comes after a federal judge rejected an earlier settlement in November.</li><li>Under the new settlement, Capital One will pay $425 million in restitution, including an estimated $34 million to New Yorkers who had 360 Savings accounts.</li></ul><p>Capital One shares plunged on Monday after a federal judge preliminarily approved the company's revised $425 million to settle a lawsuit related to its 360 ‌ Savings accounts with depositors who said they were cheated out of high interest rates.&nbsp;</p><p>The settlement comes after a federal judge in November rejected an earlier settlement where Capital One agreed to pay depositors $300 million to cover interest the depositors could have earned and $125 million of additional interest to depositors who still have the 360 savings account.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">New Settlement</h2><p>The settlement, which has been preliminarily approved by the court on Monday, will require Capital One to pay $425 million in restitution, including an estimated $34 million to New Yorkers who had 360 Savings accounts.</p><p>The settlement will also require Capital One to match 360 Savings and 360 Performance Savings interest rates, erasing the misleading two-tiered system of accounts at the heart of Attorney General James’ lawsuit and providing an estimated $530 million to consumers nationwide in future additional interest, according to a statement from Attorney General Letitia James.</p><p>“After Attorney General James led a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general in opposing an earlier proposed class action settlement that did not deliver enough for Capital One customers who were wronged, this new settlement more than doubles the value of the earlier one,” said Attorney General Letitia James in a statement.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Trump’s 10% Credit Card Rate Cap Fears</h2><p>President Donald Trump on Friday said he was considering a one-year, 10% cap on credit card interest rates, arguing that current rates of 20%–30% are excessively high and that he was moving to fulfill one of his campaign promises.</p><p>Credit card companies are expected to get hit the most by this step if it is implemented, as their interest income will see a hit that typically accounts for the majority of credit card revenue and an even larger share of profit.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Stocktwits Users React?</h2><p>Retail sentiment around COF trended in ‘extremely bullish’ territory amid ‘extremely high’ message volume.&nbsp;</p><p>Shares of Capital One have risen nearly 33% over the past year.&nbsp;</p><p><i>For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.</i><br>&nbsp;</p>

He said that the sentiment remains very positive, driven by strong pricing momentum, and Nvidia's (NVDA) recent memory controller announcement, as per TheFly.&nbsp;</p><p>The increasing optimism comes amid growing demand for artificial intelligence, data center deployments, and memory chips even as a global supply shortage is boosting Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) and NAND Flash prices.</p><p>Sandisk’s Solid-State Drives (SSD) are powering AI workloads through enterprise storage. The firm adjusted targets in the semiconductors and semiconductor capital equipment group as part of its 2026 outlook. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The CEO will provide a full update on Boeing's performance at its upcoming fourth quarter earnings.</li><li>Alaska Airlines on Wednesday announced a record order for the plane manufacturer.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Boeing’s chief Kelly Ortberg reportedly told employees that the company still has important work ahead in 2026, to continue their turnaround after a series of crises.&nbsp;</p><p>According to a <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-01-08/boeing-ceo-sees-more-work-on-company-turnaround-in-2026-memo#:~:text=%E2%80%9CLooking%20back%20to%20where%20we,contrast%20to%20Wall%20Street's%20enthusiasm.">report</a> from Bloomberg News, Ortberg said, “To continue our turnaround, we still have important work ahead of us — perhaps even more than what we accomplished last year.”&nbsp;</p><p>"Looking back to where we were this time last year, we've made a lot of progress and have set the foundation to keep moving Boeing forward in 2026," Ortberg said in a companywide memo, as per the report.&nbsp;</p><p>The CEO will provide a full update on Boeing's performance when the company reports fourth-quarter earnings expected on January 27.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Recovery Signs</h2><p>Alaska Airlines on Wednesday <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/alaska-airlines-places-record-order-for-boeing-737-10-787-jets/cmxzcYDR429">announced</a> a record order for the plane manufacturer in a move that signals returning confidence among airlines towards Boeing’s jets.&nbsp;</p><p>Alaska airline said it will order 105 Boeing 737-10 aircraft and five additional 787 widebody jets.&nbsp;<br>The airline also secured rights to purchase 35 more 737-10s, extending its delivery schedule through 2035 and locking in key production slots. Boeing’s CEO Tells Staff ‘Important Work Ahead’ To Continue Its Turnaround: Report

According to a report from Bloomberg News, Ortberg said the company has made a lot of progress and has set the foundation to keep moving Boeing forward in 2026. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The company's sales fell 10% to $2.22 billion for the quarter. However, it still beat analysts’ estimates of $2.17 billion.</li><li>Constellation’s board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $1.02 per share.&nbsp;</li><li>The company reported comparable diluted net income per share of $3.06, beating analyst estimates of $2.63 per share.</li></ul><p>Shares of Constellation Brands (STZ) rallied in after-market hours on Wednesday after it reported third quarter profit that was above analyst estimates.&nbsp;</p><p>The company said its beer business continues to outperform the industry, exceeding total beverage alcohol by nearly half a percentage point and the beer category by approximately 1 percentage point year-over-year.</p><p>The company reported comparable diluted net income per share of $3.06, beating analyst estimates of $2.63 per share, according to data from Fiscal.ai.&nbsp;</p><p>“Our Beer Business delivered dollar and volume share gains in tracked channels and gained incremental distribution points, while our Wine and Spirit Business continued to outperform the U.S. wine industry. By focusing on factors within our control, we are confident that we are positioning the company for long-term success,” said Bill Newlands, President and Chief Executive Officer at Constellation Brands.&nbsp;</p><p>Constellation’s board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $1.02 per share of Class A Common Stock payable on February 12, 2026.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Reaffirms FY26 Outlook</h2><p>The company reaffirmed its comparable earnings outlook of $11.30 to $11.60 per share for the fiscal year 2026. Analysts on average expected $11.47 per share.&nbsp;</p><p>It also maintained its cash flow target of $2.5 billion to $2.6 billion.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Tariffs Continue To Pressure</h2><p>"The operating environment during the third quarter of fiscal 2026 remained challenged, which was in line with our expectations and relatively consistent with the prior quarter,” Newlands said.&nbsp;</p><p>U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs have been hurting beer companies who are seeing their margins erode due to 50% tariffs on aluminum cans.&nbsp;</p><p>Constellation Brands’ comparable net sales fell 10% to $2.22 billion for the quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago. Constellation Brands Rallies During After Market Hours – Here’s Why?

Hybrid sales, however, rose about 18% to 55,374 vehicles.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Ford Reasserts Faith In Lowered EV Push</h2><p>Dearborn-based Ford said in December that it expects to incur $19.5 billion in EV-related charges after it killed several EV models to stem losses from the segment.</p><p>“Ford no longer plans to produce select larger electric vehicles where the business case has eroded due to lower-than-expected demand, high costs and regulatory changes,” the company said.</p><p>While a majority of the charges would be incurred in the fourth quarter, the remaining will be incurred in 2026 and 2027, the company said.</p><p>CEO Jim Farley had noted that the move is centered on customer demand. “The operating reality has changed, and we are redeploying capital into higher-return growth opportunities: Ford Pro, our market-leading trucks and vans, hybrids and high margin opportunities like our new battery energy storage business,” he said.</p><p>Ford on Tuesday reiterated its faith in its updated strategy on the heels of the sales numbers. “Our growth across record hybrid sales shows that our 'power of choice' approach – offering gas, hybrid, and electric – is exactly what consumers are looking for right now,” said Andrew Frick, president, Ford Blue and Model e.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Gas Guzzling Vehicles In Q4</h2><p>For Ford, gas vehicles continued to be the customer’s favorite in Q4, with the company recording growth of 4.8% in sales to 475,329 units. Trucks were the most preferred vehicle type as the F-series continued to be the company’s best-seller though its sales dropped by over 3% in the quarter.</p><p>The company also scaled sales of its Maverick and Ranger trucks in the period.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Full Year Sales And Rival Performance</h2><p>Ford’s overall sales in the U.S. for the full year grew 6% to 2.2 million units, taking its overall market share to 13.2%. F shares closed up over 2% on Tuesday.</p><p>Meanwhile, Ford’s rival General Motors on Monday reported a 7% decline in Q4 U.S. vehicle deliveries due to a dive in EV demand. It said it will open a new U.S. operations hub in Wixom, Michigan in 2026 as part of its plans to meet surging demand for robotics in the U.S.&nbsp;</p><p>The new U.S. Operations Hub will support the re-industrialization of America with advanced robotics. The company is seeking to support the evolving needs of American industry, including productivity, reshoring, upskilling, and increased automation to address workforce challenges and enhance global competitiveness.</p><p>“This new U.S. Operations Hub is a pivotal step to support the growth of advanced robotics in America and demonstrates our commitment to customers in the United States,” said Jean-Pierre Hathout, President of the Teradyne Robotics Group.</p><p>Teradyne already has a large robotics customer base in North America and a regional robotics office in Novi, Michigan.
