Toyota Recalls Over Half A Million Vehicles In The US

Japanese automaker Toyota Motor (TM) on Tuesday reported that U.S. sales in June increased by a meagre 0.1% to 193,248 vehicles.This includes 165,174 Toyota division vehicles and 28,074 Lexus vehicles. While <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-motor-north-america-reports-june-second-quarter-2025-u-s-sales-results/">Toyota</a> division sales rose 0.2% in the last month of the second quarter, Lexus sales fell 0.9%.Sales of electrified vehicles jumped 6.7% to 90,426 units in the month, the company said, while adding that electrified Toyota and Lexus sales made up over 47% total sales volume in the month.NYSE-listed Toyota shares were trading 0.2% higher at the time of writing.In the three months through June, Toyota Motor reported sales of 666,469 vehicles in the U.S., up 7.2% YoY. Sales of electrified vehicles for the second quarter totaled 320,817, marking a 29.7% increase and representing 48% of total sales volume.For the quarter, the Toyota division reported sales of 570,546 vehicles, a 7.1% increase from the corresponding period of 2024, while the Lexus division reported sales of 95,923 vehicles, up 8.1%. This was in part due to an increase in sales of models including the Sienna, Tacoma, Camry, Grand Highlander, Lexus NX, and Lexus TX, among others.Toyota Motor’s North America executive vice president, Mark Templin, said that the company’s lineup of 32 electrified vehicles contributed to the sales increase. The company added that its lineup represents the biggest among automakers.The best-selling electrified vehicles in June were the Toyota Camry hybrid and the Toyota RAV4 hybrid.
