Oil prices have climbed back to over $100 a barrel, and inflation concerns persist.Yet, Lubin noted that despite the S&amp;P 500 index’s fall since the start of the war, it has declined less than its peers. He also noted that while the yield on U.S. government 10-year bonds has risen, it is still lower than many other American peers. “In the end, it is U.S. trustworthiness that underpins all this,” he said.Meanwhile, U.S. equities declined in Wednesday’s overnight session. Analysts at Goldman Sachs reportedly warned on Thursday that the U.S. dollar may start trading as a “riskier” currency after it recently hit a three-year low amid global tariff tensions ignited by President Donald Trump’s trade war.&nbsp;The <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/DXY">U.S. Dollar Index (DXY)</a> gained 0.38% in morning trade, marking a gain of 0.87% for the week. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the index has been edging higher within ‘bullish’ territory over the past week amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.Goldman analysts flagged growing policy uncertainty tied to trade tariffs, concerns over the Federal Reserve’s independence, and increased diversification away from U.S. assets as risks that could drive greater volatility in the dollar, in a note&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-07-10/goldman-warns-dollar-can-quickly-trade-like-risky-currency-again">cited</a> by Bloomberg.“Shifting correlations have left dollar strength in periods of risk-off a less reliable outcome,” the analysts wrote.They cited the dollar’s rising tendency to sell off in tandem with U.S. equities, which has happened more than twice as often this year as over the past decade, as one of the most notable trends of 2025.A more troubling signal, they said, is when equities, treasuries, and the dollar all fall at once — a pattern they cited has become more frequent.The dollar is down nearly 10% year-to-date, pressured by Trump’s tariff escalation against key trading partners. Goldman Warns Dollar’s Safe-Haven Role Is Fading Under Trump’s Trade War

Analysts at Goldman Sachs cited the dollar’s rising tendency to sell off in tandem with U.S. equities, which has happened more than twice as often this year than over the past decade, as one of the most notable trends of 2025.

The U.S. dollar is facing the worst investor sentiment in more than 20 years, according to the Bank of America.In its monthly global fund manager survey, cited by Bloomberg, Bank of America said a net 31% of investors were underweight the U.S. dollar, marking the most bearish stance on the currency in two decades.&nbsp;This comes as the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/DXY">U.S. dollar index</a> (DXY) has fallen by over 9% so far this year amid rising geopolitical tension spurred by the Trump administration’s tariff negotiations.&nbsp;U.S. Dollar ETFs have&nbsp;fared marginally better, with the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/UUP">Invesco BD US Dollar Index Bullish Fund</a> (UUP) down 7.5% this year and the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/USDU">WisdomTree Bloomberg U.S. Dollar Bullish Fund</a> (USDU) down nearly 6%.&nbsp;According to the survey, investor pessimism isn’t just limited to the U.S. dollar but also to U.S. stocks. It shows that 54% of asset managers expect international stocks to be the top asset class, while only 23% picked U.S. stocks.&nbsp;The most favored positions among investors were in the eurozone, emerging markets, and banking stocks, with U.S. equities, the dollar, and energy sectors seeing the least interest.The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SPY">SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF</a> (SPY), which tracks the 500 largest companies on the U.S. stock market, has only gained 2% this year.
