Introduced as a "joke currency" on 6 December 2013, Dogecoin quickly developed its own online community and reached a capitalization of US$60 million in January 2014. Compared with other cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin had a fast initial coin production schedule: 100 billion coins were in circulation by mid-2015, with an additional 5.256 billion coins every year thereafter. As of 30 June 2015, the 100 billionth Dogecoin had been mined.   Dogecoin was created by Billy Markus from Portland, Oregon and  Jackson Palmer from Sydney, Australia. Both wanted to create a fun cryptocurrency that will appeal beyond the core Bitcoin audience. Dogecoin is primarily used as a tipping system on Reddit and Twitter where users tip each other for creating or sharing good content. The community is very active in organising fundraising activities for deserving causes.  The developers of Dogecoin haven’t made any major changes to the coin since 2015. This means that Dogecoin could get left behind and is why Shibas are leaving Dogecoin to join more advanced platforms like Ethereum. One of Dogecoin strengths is its relaxed and fun-loving community. However, this is also a weakness because other currencies are way more professional. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

(RUM) shares climbed nearly 16% in Monday’s early premarket session after the company agreed to buy German artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure company Northern Data and secured an advertising commitment from Tether.Rumble’s CEO Chris Pavlovski hinted at the company’s&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/rumble-ceo-bats-for-northern-data-acquisition-bid/chrH3HnRden">interest</a> in acquiring Tether-backed Northern Data on the second-quarter earnings call in mid-August.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Rumble’s Northern Data Buy</h2>In a statement, the Longboat, Florida-based Rumble said it has signed a business combination agreement with Northern Data under which it will submit a voluntary public exchange offer to all shareholders of Northern Data. Once completed, the deal will enable Rumble to scale and expand its cloud business with the addition of one of the largest GPU estates in Europe, along with a data center business.The transaction will also help accelerate “Rumble's international expansion strategy, provide a significant revenue growth opportunity, and enable an acceleration of Rumble's creator, video, and advertising AI roadmap.”Once the exchange offer is completed, Rumble will gain one of the largest GPU fleets, comprising&nbsp;22,400 NVIDIA GPUs, including 20,400 NVIDIA H100s and 2,000 NVIDIA H200s.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The Tether Financing</h2>Separately, Rumble also stated that Tether has agreed to provide a $100 million advertising commitment over a two-year period, starting in the first quarter of 2026. The company noted that the funding commitment follows its definitive agreement to acquire Northern Data. Following the closing, Tether has agreed to become a vital anchor customer of the combined group.&nbsp;Incidentally, Tether has made a $775 million strategic investment in Rumble, which was first announced in December.The advertising commitment included Rumble Wallet integration, expansion of creator monetization and ecosystem expansion.Pavlovski said, “Integrating advertising with Rumble Wallet is paving the way for a transparent, privacy-focused, and independent future of monetization and engagement for creators and users."<h2 class="st-heading-2">Rumble’s Q3 Results</h2>Rumble reported fiscal year 2025, third-quarter revenue of $24.8 million, down from the year-ago’s $25.1 million, and loss per share of $0.06, narrower than the loss of $0.15 reported for the year-ago quarter. The revenue trailed the $26.86 million consensus provided by Fiscal.ai. Why Upstart Stock Is Plunging Over 14% Premarket Today

Upstart stock is on track to drop below the $40 mark for the first time since late April as it plunges hard in premarket following its Q3 report.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The previous Joe Biden administration advanced the government loan during the last leg of his presidency.</li><li>Rivian expects to expand production of its low-cost R2 lineup when the Georgia plant comes online</li><li>Rivian’s stock is up just 1.5%&nbsp;this year compared&nbsp;with Tesla’s 14% advance.</li></ul>Rivian Automotive said it plans to access federal loan funds only after construction begins on its new manufacturing plant in Georgia, which is slated to start in 2026. Vehicle production at the site is expected to begin in 2028.&nbsp;The company hasn't specified when it will begin drawing on the $6.6 billion loan, but a company spokesperson confirmed to Stocktwits in an email that, under its terms, Rivian must begin construction and contribute equity before accessing the funds. The plant, however, doesn't need to be completed before loan draws can begin. Rivian CFO Clair McDonough communicated the stance in an <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-29/rivian-cfo-says-ev-maker-won-t-tap-us-government-loan-until-2028?srnd=homepage-americas">interview</a> with Bloomberg.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/RIVN">Rivian’s stock</a> is up just 1.5%&nbsp;this year compared&nbsp;with Tesla’s 14% advance, clearly underperforming the broader market amid macroeconomic and fundamental challenges.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Holding Off On Government Largesse</h2>Speaking to reporters in Detroit, McDonough said, “It’d be prior to starting production in 2028 that we’d be drawing down the loan,” a Bloomberg report&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-29/rivian-cfo-says-ev-maker-won-t-tap-us-government-loan-until-2028?srnd=homepage-americas">stated.</a>&nbsp;The government loan advanced by the previous Joe Biden administration during the last leg of his presidency remains in limbo, given President Donald Trump’s&nbsp;stance against clean energy, particularly EVs. Incidentally, the timeline flagged by the Rivian CFO would fall in the next presidential election year.Rivian rehashed its production plans last year and opted to manufacture its upcoming low-cost R2 EV lineups at its existing Normal, Illinois, plant in 2026 with an eye on curbing costs.
