Back in 2011, long before “crypto Twitter”, NFTs, or VC-backed chains existed, users of the BitcoinTalk forum came up with a new currency - not to launch a network, but to make fun of btc.... and so: The first memecoin/memecurrency was born.  On May 23, 2011, a Something Awful poster cracked, “Has anyone called them buttcoins yet?”. It was sophomoric and perfect. Within weeks the gag metastasized into Buttcoin.org, a parody blog that described a “peer to peer butt” economy while cataloging mining fiascos, exchange blowups, and MLM-adjacent “innovations”.

Buttcoin is surging in conversation as the community highlights its 15-year history as a parody of Bitcoin, with supporters framing it as a cultural staple that is finally gaining on-chain traction on Solana. Investors are actively debating its potential to flip market perceptions while emphasizing its unique lore and the recent involvement of verified project channels.

Ethereum is a global, open-source platform for decentralized applications. In other words, it is a decentralized blockchain platform that enables developers to build and deploy smart contracts and applications without central authority control. Unlike Bitcoin, which primarily functions as digital currency, Ethereum operates as a programmable global computer where developers can create any type of decentralized service.   The platform hosts over $14 billion in DeFi applications with hundreds of thousands of active users across financial protocols, NFT marketplaces, and gaming platforms. Its transition to Proof of Stake in September 2022 reduced energy consumption by over 99%, addressing environmental concerns while strengthening network security.  The network operates through thousands of independent validator nodes that process transactions and execute smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Smart contracts are self-executing programs written in Solidity that automatically carry out agreements when conditions are met, eliminating intermediaries like banks or brokers.   Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

Ethereum is currently navigating a period of heightened volatility as the market balances institutional ETF inflows against ongoing geopolitical tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Investors remain focused on critical price support levels while monitoring whether ongoing diplomatic negotiations will resolve regional conflicts or lead to further market instability.

Maulcoin is capturing significant attention as the community rallies around its organic growth and aggressive 'Sith-themed' branding, with supporters actively pushing for higher market capitalization milestones and celebrating the avoidance of a rug-pull structure. Traders are focused on the stock's strong community-driven momentum and volume spikes, viewing current price action as a consolidation period before the next major leg up.

What Is Tezos (XTZ)?   Tezos is a high-performing blockchain and open-source platform for assets and applications, with a strong focus on code security, on-chain governance, and decentralization. Tezos 2.0, the upcoming step in the evolution of Tezos, aims to improve scalability (via layer 2s), composability, and to implement support to mainstream programming languages (like Javascript, Typescript, Python, and many others).   Initially built with formal verification in mind, the Tezos protocol enables builders to avoid bugs when developing smart contracts, making it particularly suited to applications that require a high degree of security and certainty.   Tezos’ LPoS (Liquid Proof-of-Stake) consensus mechanism enables any stakeholder to take part, directly or by delegation, in the consensus process, and to be rewarded for securing the network. Rather uniquely, Tezos’ on-chain governance system also enables stakeholders to create and vote on protocol upgrade proposals. This pioneering system allows the protocol to self-amend and upgrade itself without leading to a split (or fork) in the blockchain, empowering the community without slowing down innovation.   First proposed in 2014 and launched in 2018, the Tezos Mainnet has a proven track record of running uninterrupted ever since, having earned a strong reputation for technical excellence and a supportive community.    Who Are the Founders of Tezos? Tezos was conceived by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman in a 2014 white paper under the pseudonym L.M. Goodman in a nod to Satoshi Nakamoto, referencing a journalist who had misidentified the creator of Bitcoin.   In a previous paper, the Breitmans had argued that Bitcoin's biggest shortcomings were the lack of a governance process that invited contributions from its community of users, cost and centralization issues raised by its proof-of-work system, the limited expressiveness of its programming language which didn’t allow for smart contracts, and security

Ushering in all five properties, Kaspa is on track to fulfill Satoshi Nakamoto's vision of a digital medium of exchange while also advancing global layer-one sequencing and minuscule confirmation times dominated by internet latency (cf. chapter 6 of the the paper for some initial benchmarks). The Kaspa implementation includes a lot of cool features and subprotocols including Reachability to query the DAG's topology, Block data pruning (with near-future plans for block header pruning), SPV proofs, and later subnetwork support which will make future implementation of layer 2 solutions much easier.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Goldman Sachs kept a ‘Buy’ rating on the shares.</li><li>DELL in a 10-K filing this week disclosed that it has slashed its workforce by 10% or 11,000 employees in fiscal 2026.&nbsp;</li><li>Goldman sees the reduction in workforce as supportive of the company's guidance for operating expenses.</li></ul><p>Dell Technologies (DELL) shares jumped nearly 2% during extended hours of trading on Friday after an analyst at Goldman Sachs raised the price target on the stock.&nbsp;</p><p>Goldman Sachs analyst Katherine Murphy raised the firm's price target on Dell Technologies to $195 from $180 and kept a ‘Buy’ rating on the shares.</p><p>Analyst in a research note to investors said that DELL disclosed that its headcount was down 10% year-over-year to 97,000 employees, the third consecutive year when headcount declined by 10%, which the&nbsp;analyst sees as supportive of the company's guidance for operating expenses to grow low single digits in FY27.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Headcount</h2><p>DELL in a 10-K filing this week disclosed that it has slashed its workforce by 10% or 11,000 employees in fiscal&nbsp;year 2026.&nbsp;</p><p>The company spent $569 million in severance payments in ​this period, compared with $693 million a year ​ago, its annual report showed. Dell had about&nbsp;⁠97,000 employees as of&nbsp;Jan. 31, down ​from about 108,000 employees a year ago. Its ​workforce had declined by about 10% in&nbsp;fiscal year 2025.</p><p>DELL, earlier this year, announced a 20% hike in its cash dividend and said that it will purchase an additional $10 billion of its own shares.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">AI-Enforced Layoffs</h2><p>According to a Reuters <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/world-at-work/meta-planning-sweeping-layoffs-ai-costs-mount-2026-03-14/">report</a>, technology giant&nbsp;Meta Platforms (META) was reportedly planning to slash about 20% of its workforce. The company laid off 11,000 of its staff in November 2022, or around 13% of its workforce at the time.&nbsp;</p><p>Mark Zuckerberg has been pushing Meta to ​compete more strongly in the generative AI field.
