Shorts are clearly banking on a higher interest rate environment and a deteriorating economy despite Petco's proven ability to weather the storm and lessening of their debt. It will work to hold the price down short term.

It's been woodshed time for so many (non tech) stocks over the past weeks, and 0% of it a surprise to me as Sep is historically worst month overall for markets, and small-caps don't tend to bottom out til Oct options expiration.
