What are Mirrored Assets? MIR is the governance token of Mirror Protocol, a synthetic assets protocol built by Terraform Labs (TFL) on the Terra blockchain.  Mirror Protocol is decentralized from day 1, with the on-chain treasury and code changes governed by holders of the MIR token. Murthy called for warning labels on social media platforms last year in an <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/17/opinion/social-media-health-warning.html">opinion piece</a> on The New York Times while terming the mental health crisis among young people as an emergency. META, SNAP, GOOG Stocks Fall After New York Mandates Mental Health Warnings On Social Media Platforms

The new legislation requires social media platforms that offer “addictive feeds, auto play or infinite scroll” to post warning labels on their platforms.

Revenue for the nine months through Sept. 30 topped $2 billion, Bloomberg&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-12-12/musk-s-x-posts-higher-sales-amid-costly-turnaround">reported</a>, citing people familiar with the matter.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Losses Persist Despite Revenue Growth</h2>Higher sales have yet to translate into profitability. X recorded a net loss of about $577.4 million in Q3, largely driven by restructuring expenses, the report noted.Still, some indicators suggest stabilisation after the disruption that followed Musk’s takeover in late 2022. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation rose about 16% year on year to roughly $454 million in the quarter. The company also supposedly posted year-on-year revenue growth in the second quarter.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Advertising Still Dominates Revenue</h2>Advertising has long been X’s primary source of income, but the company has been trying to broaden its revenue base through paid subscriptions and data-licensing agreements. Even with recent growth, X remains well below its pre-takeover scale. Before Musk’s purchase, Twitter generated $1.18 billion in revenue in the second quarter of 2022, its last report as a publicly listed company.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Push Toward An ‘Everything App’</h2>In November,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/elon-musk-says-x-money-launching-soon-after-x-chat-messaging-overhaul/cLP9JkNREEP">Musk said X Money would be launching soon</a>, signalling the next phase of his effort to turn X into a broad communications and financial platform. The announcement followed the rollout of XChat, a major overhaul of the platform’s messaging system that brings encrypted messaging, audio and video calls, and file sharing into a single interface.“X just rolled out an entire new communications stack,”&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1989003739831865805">Musk wrote on X</a>, adding that X Money was coming soon.Earlier this year, X partnered with Visa to support digital wallets and peer-to-peer payments. Elon Musk’s X Shows Revenue Growth And Early Stabilisation As ‘Everything App’ Plans Take Shape: Report

X’s revenue improved even as losses continued, with Musk pushing ahead on plans to expand the platform beyond advertising.

The European Commission concluded that X misled users with its paid-for blue ticks, failed to set up an advertising repository properly, and delayed granting researchers access to platform data.Hours before the EU announced its fine against X, Vice President JD Vance preemptively criticized it. “Rumors swirling that the EU commission will fine X hundreds of millions of dollars for not engaging in censorship. The Commission found that X had employed deceptive practices to allow users to obtain a “verified” status. It said that this affected the users' ability to make free and informed decisions about the authenticity of the accounts and the content they interact with.“While the DSA does not mandate user verification, it clearly prohibits online platforms from falsely claiming that users have been verified, when no such verification took place,” the Commission said.The EC also slammed X for a lack of transparency with respect to its advertisement repository, stating that there is a deficiency of critical information, such as the content and topic of the advertisement, as well as the legal entity paying for it.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What’s Next For X?</h2>X now has 60 days to respond to the EC on how it plans to end the infringement of the DSA’s rules related to the deceptive use of blue checkmarks on the platform.The social media platform has also been given 90 days to submit an action plan listing the measures X intends to take to address the infringement of DSA rules related to the advertising repository and access to public data for researchers.“Failure to comply with the non-compliance decision may lead to periodic penalty payments.
