Update: X is now operating normally, with error reports having plummeted on the service tracking website Downdetector.
Elon Musk’s social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced issues in loading on Tuesday morning, with the main timeline displaying no posts at the time of writing.
Service tracking website Downdetector showed a massive spike in X outage reports, with users complaining that the social media platform was either completely down or that some parts of the service were not loading.

XCorp. is not publicly listed. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around the company trended in the ‘neutral’ territory at the time of writing.
The issue seems to be resolved now, with error reports having declined drastically on Downdetector.
X’s service monitor shows there are no issues currently, with the dashboard stating that “All systems are operational.”
It’s not clear yet what led to the downtime at X, since there was no official statement or update from the company at the time of writing.
In November, a massive outage at Cloudflare disrupted services in several parts of the internet, including X and OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
At the time, the issue was caused by a configuration bug in Cloudflare’s bot mitigation feature. X is one of the world’s 20% websites that use Cloudflare’s content delivery services, cybersecurity, and mitigation of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
