The development is seen as a tactical move by China to redirect all regulatory focus on artificial intelligence (AI) chipmaker Nvidia,&nbsp;using the company as a bargaining chip in its trade talks with the U.S. It is also seen as Beijing underscoring its flexibility to the U.S. amid several unresolved issues, especially on the trade front.After President Donald Trump announced his reciprocal tariffs in early April, with China slapped with hefty levies, the two sides have had four rounds of high-level delegation talks. The most recent one, led by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, was held in Madrid, the Spanish capital. Although details of the trade talks were not divulged, the two sides reached a framework agreement to switch TikTok to U.S.-controlled ownership.&nbsp;The FT report also said the Chinese antitrust agency, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SMAR), has decided to drop a case it brought against Google in February. Incidentally, the SAMR said earlier this week that it initiated a probe against Nvidia regarding the company’s 2019 Mellanox Technologies acquisition.&nbsp;A separate FT report said Wednesday that&nbsp;China has imposed a&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/nvidia-stock-draws-significant-investor-interest-after-this-development-in-china/chDGVuRRd6c">sweeping prohibition</a> on domestic tech companies buying the Jensen Huang-led company’s AI chips.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GOOGL">Alphabet</a>, meanwhile, benefited from a recent antitrust ruling in the U.S. that allowed the company to keep its Chrome browser and Android operating system and to continue its Google Search deal with companies such as Apple. (META) shares&nbsp;edged higher after-hours as Mark Zuckerberg’s company unveiled its newest artificial intelligence (AI) glasses at its Meta Connect 2025 conference held late Wednesday.In overnight trading, at the time of writing, Meta’s stock was up 0.24% at $778.15. The company added that it is the first product to integrate microphones, speakers, cameras, and a full-color display, backed by compute and AI, all in a single device that is both stylish and comfortable.It comes with a Meta Neural Band, an EMG wrist band that translates signals created by muscles, including even subtle finger movements, into commands for the glasses. Among the functionalities are Meta AI with visual replies, messaging and video calling, previewing and zooming, pedestrian navigation, and music playback.The price of the device starts at $799, and it will be made available to users on&nbsp;Sept. 30 at limited brick-and-mortar retailers in the U.S., including Best Buy, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and Ray-Ban Stores, followed by select Verizon stores. (DIS).&nbsp;The new collaboration involves the creation of a digital comics platform, a move analysts view as a long-term growth catalyst for the company. JPMorgan revised its target price for Webtoon to $22, up from its prior estimate of $14, while maintaining a ‘Neutral’ rating, according to TheFly.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/WBTN">Webtoon Entertainment stock</a> traded 31% higher on Tuesday morning. Magnite (MGNI) announced on Tuesday that it has filed a lawsuit against Alphabet’s (GOOG/GOOGL) Google in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, seeking damages tied to antitrust violations.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MGNI">Magnite’ stock</a> rose more than 1% in pre-market trade on Tuesday. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the stock remained in ‘neutral’ territory over the past day. Meanwhile,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GOOG">Alphabet’s stock</a> edged 0.46% higher but retail sentiment continued to trend in ‘bearish’ territory even as chatter rose to ‘high’ from ‘normal’ levels.&nbsp;One of the largest independent sell-side advertising platforms alleges that Google’s practices locked publishers into its systems and steered business to its own exchange, harming rivals and stifling innovation.&nbsp;“Google did not earn its privileged position in the ad tech ecosystem through innovation or competition on the merits. Instead, it first bought its way to dominance,” the lawsuit said.&nbsp;The move follows an April 2025 federal ruling that found Google “willfully engaged in a series of anticompetitive acts” to maintain monopoly power in ad exchange and ad server markets.&nbsp;Magnite CEO Michael Barrett said the company was built to help publishers improve ad revenue through technology and transparency, but argued that Google’s self-preferencing practices made that mission harder to achieve. He added that Magnite hopes the legal action will help restore competition and innovation across the digital ad ecosystem.Magnite had previously signaled potential action. On its second-quarter (Q2) earnings call, Barrett told investors the company was “looking at” litigation and saw “a lot of merit there.”The lawsuit follows similar actions by publishers and rivals. The stock settled Thursday’s session up nearly 29% at $16.17, marking its best day ever.Mega Media Deal In Works?<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/WBD">Warner Bros. Discovery stock</a>&nbsp;started rallying&nbsp;midday after a Wall Street Journal report, citing people familiar with the matter, said Paramount Skydance (PSKY) was preparing a&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/paramount-skydance-reportedly-plans-majority-cash-bid-for-warner-bros-discovery/chwNp8zRdvx">majority cash bid</a> for the company. The merger, if successful, could bring together two of Hollywood’s storied studios and leading streaming businesses, HBO Max and Paramount+.Paramount Skydance, by itself, is a product of a merger between Paramount and David Ellison’s Skydance Media, which was consummated in early August. The merger followed the acquisition of Paramount's parent, National Amusements — previously owned by the Redstone family — by Skydance.The Ellison family was reportedly eyeing acquiring both Warner Bros.’ cable networks and movie studios. (FOXA), has reportedly sealed a deal, settling a succession fight within the family and cementing his son, Lachlan Murdoch's, position as his sole heir apparent.The Murdochs’ media businesses include the New York Post, Wall Street Journal, Fox News, Sky News Australia, and book publisher Harper Collins.The NPR&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.npr.org/2025/09/08/nx-s1-5534435/rupert-murdoch-fox-news-family-succession-lachlan">said,</a> citing people with direct knowledge who claimed anonymity, that Rupert and Lachlan have entered into a series of complex share transactions with the latter’s three eldest siblings, Prudence, Elisabeth and James.Lachlan currently serves as the chairman of News Corp. and executive chair and CEO of Fox Corp. and executive chair of the Australian broadcasting company, Nova Entertainment. Alphabet, Inc.’s (GOOGL) (GOOG) partly-positive antitrust ruling that allows the company’s Chrome browser triggered positive reactions from Wall Street analysts tracking the stock.Wedbush tech analyst Daniel Ives was among those who acted early and pushed up their price targets for the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GOOGL">Alphabet stock.</a> In a post on X, the analyst said, “We are increasingly constructive in the longer-term durability of Google's Search business and are raising our estimates accordingly,” citing the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/alphabet-eyes-fresh-record-after-monster-win-in-antitrust-ruling/chwTSfHRdFK">federal court ruling</a>.&nbsp;Ives upped the price target for the stock to $245 from $225, implying 16% upside from Tuesday’s close.
