Stablecoins are dollar-pegged digital currencies that have become the dominant settlement layer for cryptocurrency transactions, processing more than $33 trillion in volume last year, surpassing Visa.&nbsp;The launch comes as the Senate is deadlocked over whether stablecoin holders themselves should be allowed to earn yield. The Banking Committee's January draft of the CLARITY Act would prohibit digital asset service providers from paying interest on stablecoin balances directly, a provision banks have pushed hard for, viewing yield-bearing stablecoins as deposit competition.&nbsp;CUSHY is not a stablecoin product. It is a credit fund. Rather than paying yield on a stablecoin balance, it lends to borrowers and distributes returns through a regulated fund structure, a distinction that likely places it outside the scope of what CLARITY is targeting.If the bill passes with stablecoin yield restrictions intact, CUSHY's structure would remain largely unaffected. If it stalls, the fund operates under the same regulatory ambiguity that has governed institutional crypto credit for years. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Robinhood CFO Shiv Verma told Stocktwits that retail participation remains “healthy” despite the broader macro backdrop, with consistent user activity.</li><li>He added that April trading activity is tracking toward one of the strongest months in company history.</li><li>Verma said prediction markets are on track to hit $3 billion for the month.</li></ul>Robinhood (HOOD) CFO Shiv Verma told Stocktwits on Tuesday that while the stock price has fallen nearly 15% on missed first-quarter earnings, the company is “winning” when it comes to expanding its user base.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/HOOD">HOOD’s stock</a> fell as much as 14.5% in midday trade on Wednesday, wiping out April gains if the losses hold till market close. The downswing came after the company reported adjusted earnings of $0.47 per share for the first quarter (Q1) after market close on Tuesday, missing Wall Street’s estimate of $0.43, according to Koyfin data. Revenue came in at $1.07 billion, also below the consensus estimate of $1.13 billion.&nbsp;"Relative to consensus, we did come a little bit lighter," Verma told Michele Steele in an <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwsttL43vMw">exclusive interview</a> with Stocktwits. "Volumes are really healthy, but what was lower on the back end was the pricing."&nbsp;<blockquote>“We look at market share, and are we winning? Are we delivering value for customers? That means customers are engaged, they're using the platform."<h2 class="st-heading-2">Robinhood’s Crypto Revenue Takes Biggest Hit</h2>The biggest drag on Robinhood’s quarterly earnings came from crypto. Transaction revenue from digital assets fell 47% year-over-year, dropping from $252 million to $134 million, as a crypto slump that began late last year extended into early 2026. Verma didn't dispute it, but he pushed back on what it means for the broader business.&nbsp;He said that net deposits came in at $17.7 billion, equivalent to a 22% annualized growth rate, adding that gold subscribers hit an all-time high. Verma also noted that banking pulled in over $2 billion in assets in its first full quarter as a product. "Retail is healthy," Robinhood CFO said. "Despite the macro backdrop, we saw really good engagement from retail."&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Q1 Was ‘Strange’ But April Is Better</h2>Verma added that April is tracking equity and options volumes at the highest month of the year, and on pace to be the second-best month in company history. Prediction markets, one of Robinhood's fastest-growing new products, are on track to hit $3 billion for the month and mark the second-highest month ever.
