Cleveland-Cliffs posted a loss per share of $0.45, matching analyst forecasts, while revenue reached $4.7 million, slightly below the consensus estimate of $4.8 million, according to Koyfin data.The shares rallied on Goncalves stating that rare-earths could represent a strategic growth area for the company. "Beyond steelmaking, the renewed importance of rare earths has driven us to re-focus on this potential opportunity at our upstream mining assets," he said.&nbsp;<blockquote>"It is our obligation to do so as a company with our geological footprint. Perpetua Resources Speaking With Glencore, Trafigura To Bolster US Antimony Refining Amid China Export Ban: Report

United States Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing Peter Navarro said Thursday that Washington will maintain tariffs on steel and aluminum with no exemptions for the European Union.“There will be no exemptions, no exclusions for steel and aluminum tariffs,” Navarro told reporters. He noted that the U.S. added more than 400 new products to the tariff list this week to curb manipulation and circumvention. “Every time we try to give an exemption or exclusion to one of our allies, they abuse it totally. We learned that it was a slippery slope,” Navarro said, recalling Trump’s previous term in office.Navarro also praised the administration’s 15% tariff on cars, describing it as a cornerstone of Trump’s trade strategy with Europe. “Anybody who criticizes Trump’s policy has to look at the president’s magnificent achievement in dealing with the EU,” he said.His comments come after the U.S. and EU&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/us-eu-announce-tariffs-autos-pharma/chsSuh2Rdid">issued</a> a joint statement earlier on Thursday, formalizing the trade deal announced back in July. Trump To Rally In Pittsburgh With US Steel-Nippon Deal Nearing Decision

Barrick Gold (GOLD) shares climbed more than 2% on Monday morning as gold prices surged to a new record, driven by renewed demand for safe-haven assets following President Donald Trump’s latest&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/cleveland-cliffs-stock-jump-on-trump-steel-tariff/ch5EQzPRtt">tariff threats</a>.The stock was among the top trending tickers on Stocktwits as its price hit near two-month highs, fueled by gold prices reaching an all-time high of $2,911.30 per troy ounce – marking the seventh record peak in 2025 and bringing the glittering $3,000 milestone into view.Gold’s price is already up nearly 11% this year after a staggering 27% gain in 2024.Trump is expected to introduce a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports later on Monday, followed by reciprocal tariffs on Tuesday or Wednesday. The company’s attributable proven and probable gold reserves rose 23% to 89 million ounces at 0.99 grams per ton, driven&nbsp;mainly by its Reko Diq copper-gold project, which added 13 million ounces.Copper reserves surged 224% year-over-year to 18 million tonnes at 0.45%, following feasibility studies at the Lumwana and Reko Diq projects.&nbsp;The company reported replacing more than 180% of its depleted gold reserves since 2019, adding nearly 46 million ounces at an average cost of $10 per ounce.Barrick shares have gained 18% over the past year, with more than 10% of those gains occurring in 2025. (CLF) shares surged more than 12.5% in early trading Monday after U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to impose a 25% tariff on imported steel and aluminum.The rally pushed the stock to its highest level since December and made it one of the top trending tickers on Stocktwits.&nbsp;Shares of peers U.S. Steel Corp.
