Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. You cannot grow output at that pace with sharply slower labor-force growth unless output per worker is increasing,” he added.Amid the slump in tech stocks, the economist said that markets are currently rotating, not collapsing. He added that mega-cap AI stocks could deliver returns between 0% to 10% this year, underperforming the rest of the market, which he believes could gain between 10% to 15%.“That rotation is underway. The nuclear watchdog stated that the entrance buildings of Iran’s underground Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant have sustained some damage recently.

Trump On US-Israel-Iran War: United States Continues Iran Mission With 'Ferocious Unyielding Resolve'

He expects the U.S. to win, but added that the Iranian regime’s capacity to take a lot more pain because its views about martyrdom could drag on the conflict.Analysts at UBS noted that&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/jpmorgan-investors-buy-the-dip-us-israel-iran-war/cZd3BztRI2d">they don’t expect</a> the disruption to oil supplies to be sustained, based on the relative military success of the US-Israeli operation so far and the likely rapid degradation of Iranian military capacity.“We also believe the Trump administration will be mindful of the domestic political risk of a sustained increase in oil prices heading into the U.S. midterm elections in November,” the firm stated in a note on Monday.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Eisman Downplays Fears That People Will Stop Buying Nvidia Chips</h2>“The Big Short” investor added that the fear among some investors that people will stop buying Nvidia Corp.’s (NVDA) chips is “wrong.”“It is very, very clear given the fact that just four hyperscalers are going to spend $650 billion on AI infrastructure, versus $450 billion that was spent by everybody last year, that Nvidia’s numbers will be fine for another year,” he noted.Eisman added that the issue is not whether AI works; the issue is whether firms will be able to make enough money to justify the investment in setting up the infrastructure. “We won’t know probably for a year, that whether all this money being spent is justifiable or not,” he said, adding that this is why the markets get whipsawed all the time.Meanwhile, U.S. equities declined in Monday’s opening trade.
