The analyst said this boosted the company’s FY26 revenue visibility and FY27 growth potential.Meanwhile, Citi also increased the price target on Cisco to $90 from $85 and kept a Buy rating on the shares. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.04, marginally higher than the $1.02 expectations.The company said that the squeezed gross margins were a result of rising memory chip costs. However, the company said that it has already raised prices to beat the higher costs and is also revising terms with customers.Cisco also said that its AI Infrastructure orders from hyperscalers were at $2.1 billion. While it was low at the beginning of 2025, coming in at 2.6%, the rate jumped in April and May by 125 percentage points, when Trump imposed tariffs on Chinese goods to 125% before lowering them back to 113%. By the end of the year, the average tariff rate was 13%, the report noted.Illustrating through an example, the report said that if a foreign seller charges $100 for a product and a 25% tariff is imposed, the tax adds $25, raising the total cost to $125 if the exporter doesn’t lower the price.“In this case, the tariff incidence falls entirely on the importer; in other words, there is 100 percent pass-through from tariffs to import prices, and therefore on U.S. consumers and firms,” the report said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Analysis Rationale</h2>The report drew on evidence from Trump’s first term, noting that foreign exporters did not cut prices in response to tariffs. As a result, the full burden fell on the U.S., with tariffs fully passed through to import prices.It estimated that for 2025, Americans absorbed 94% of tariff costs from January to August, easing to 92% in September and October, and 86% in November.With the average tariff at 13% in December, the report suggested that import prices on affected goods rose about 11%. Analysts had expected an addition of 55,000 payrolls during the month, according to Dow Jones data cited by MarketWatch.The January unemployment rate came in lower than expected at 4.3%, below the 4.4% estimate.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Key Rates To Remain Unchanged</h2>The latest jobs data and unemployment rate has further strengthened the case for the Federal Reserve to maintain the key interest rate unchanged rather than going for rapid cuts in the coming FOMC meetings.&nbsp;The Federal Reserve in January had kept its benchmark rate unchanged as per market expectations.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Silver Stocks</h2>The iShares Silver Trust (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SLV">SLV</a>) fell 8.7% on Thursday, to about $69.87, at the time of writing. SLV was up roughly 4% for the year. This was higher than a Dow Jones estimate of 225,000, as&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.marketwatch.com/economy-politics/calendar">cited</a> by MarketWatch.
