U.S. stock futures were largely higher early Wednesday as investors geared up for Nvidia's earnings report and the release of Fed minutes amid inflation concerns later today. Investor jitters were stoked on Tuesday by a spike in the 10-year Treasury yield and rising oil prices, driven by a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz amid ongoing U.S.-Iran geopolitical tensions.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has signed a series of new Executive Orders, including a mandate asking advanced AI models to provide early government access, and a fintech initiative aimed at streamlining industry regulations.
As of 4:00 a.m. ET on Wednesday: Nasdaq futures rose 0.4%, S&P 500 and Russell 2000 futures were 0.1% higher, while Dow futures were flat.
Retail sentiment toward the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), an exchange-traded fund that tracks the S&P 500 Index, and the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) ETF, which tracks the Nasdaq-100 Index, has held at ‘extremely bullish’.
