The new price target of $13 still represents a 4% potential upside to the stock’s closing price on Tuesday.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Goldman Sachs’ Take</h2>Rivian’s lower cost per vehicle sold in the third quarter reflects strong material cost reductions and reduced tariff impacts following recent U.S. policy changes, the analyst told investors in a research note, as per TheFly. Rivian management expects these savings to extend to the company’s upcoming R2 SUV, and is targeting positive gross margins by late 2026.Near-term, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) will likely stay under pressure due to the expiry of the federal tax credit of $7,500 on new EV purchases and higher autonomy investments. Still, long-term profitability is expected to improve with R2 scaling and growth in software and services segment, according to Goldman Sachs.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Rivian Q3 Numbers</h2>For the third quarter, Rivian <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://rivian.com/newsroom/article/rivian-releases-third-quarter-2025-financial-results">reported</a> consolidated revenue of $1.56 billion, representing a 78% year-over-year growth and exceeding an analyst estimate of $1.51 billion, according to Fiscal AI. Automotive revenue alone totaled $1.14 billion.The company delivered 13,201 vehicles in the quarter and now expects to report lower deliveries in the fourth quarter as it prepares for the launch of its R2 SUV in the first half of 2026. The R2, unlike Rivian’s R1 vehicles, which are priced over $70,000, is expected to have a price of around $45,000. The company plans to begin manufacturing validation builds of its new vehicle at the end of the year.Adjusted loss in the third quarter came in at $0.65, down from the loss of $0.99 reported in the corresponding quarter of last year, and below an estimated loss of $0.71.The company also stated that it achieved a nearly $19,000 reduction in automotive cost of revenues per vehicle delivered year-over-year in Q3, and the cost of goods sold per unit delivered during the period was approximately $96,000.For the full year, Rivian expects vehicle deliveries to be between 41,500 and 43,500 Microvast Stock Extends Breakout Run — Up 12% Premarket As Retail Rebrands It A ‘Value’ Play

Rivian Automotive, Inc. (RIVN) on Thursday said that it delivered 13,201 vehicles in the three months through the end of September, up from the 10,018 deliveries reported in the corresponding quarter of 2024.The company also <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20251002676995/en/Rivian-Releases-Q3-2025-Production-and-Delivery-Figures-and-Sets-Date-for-Third-Quarter-2025-Financial-Results">slashed</a> its full-year delivery guidance to 41,500 to 43,500 vehicles from its previous forecast of between 40,000 and 46,000 cars, as EV demand is expected to dwindle following the expiry of the federal tax credit on the purchase of EVs on Sept. 30. Shares of the company fell 7% on Thursday morning at the time of writing.On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/RIVN">RIVN stock</a> fell from ‘neutral’ to ‘bearish’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume fell from ‘normal’ to ‘low’ levels.The company also stated on Thursday that it produced 10,720 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois, during the quarter, down from the 13,157 manufactured in the corresponding period of 2024. The Normal facility is now Rivian’s only functioning manufacturing facility. Last month, the company broke ground on its Georgia facility, which could eventually produce 400,000 vehicles per year. Production at the facility is slated to start in 2028.Rivian is now ramping up for the launch of the R2 SUV in 2026. The midsize version is expected to launch in the first half of 2026 and is projected to have a price tag of $45,000. Rivian plans to manufacture validation builds of the vehicle later this year at its Illinois facility, which has the capacity to produce up to 215,000 vehicles annually. Lucid Group (LCID) received a price target hike from Cantor Fitzgerald on Wednesday, following the company's announcement that it has delivered the first robotaxi engineering vehicle to California-based robotics company Nuro.Lucid <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/uber-to-deploy-lucid-gravity-suvs-as-robotaxi-on-platform/ch8KVdIR5pR">announced</a> in July that Uber Technologies (UBER) plans to deploy 20,000 or more of its vehicles on the Uber platform as robotaxis. Uber will deploy the Lucid vehicles over six years, equipped with startup Nuro, Inc.’s Level 4 autonomy system, called Nuro Driver, the company said.On Wednesday, the company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/LucidMotors/status/1970836212358525405">said</a> in a post on X that it has delivered the first vehicle to Nuro for the installation of a Nuro driver. Nuro's Level 4 self-driving system combines automotive-grade hardware and AI-powered self-driving software.
