The cryptocurrency then took off with the innovation of the turing-complete smart contract by Ethereum which led to the development of other amazing projects such as EOS, Tron, and even crypto-collectibles such as CryptoKitties.

Sanofi (SNY) announced on Thursday that its experimental drug, Amlitelimab, met all primary and key secondary endpoints in a late-stage study in adults and adolescents with atopic dermatitis (AD).The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.sanofi.com/en/media-room/press-releases/2025/2025-09-04-05-00-00-3144170">study</a> enrolled 601 adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older with moderate-to-severe AD. Amlitelimab, dosed every four weeks or every 12 weeks, demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful efficacy in skin clearance and disease severity compared to placebo at week 24. Furthermore, a progressive increase in efficacy was observed during the treatment period in patients who were dosed every four weeks as well as in those who were dosed every 12 weeks, the company said.The most common treatment-emergent adverse events, such as upper respiratory tract infection, were more common in the placebo arm compared to the Amlitelimab-treated arms of the study, it said.Shares of the company, however, traded 9% lower in the premarket session at the time of writing.According to a Reuters <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/sanofi-sheds-13-billion-value-weak-trial-results-eczema-drug-2025-09-04/">report</a>, Jefferies analysts opined that the trial results fell short of those from an earlier trial and of rival biologic drugs. However, the drug's safety profile and convenient 12-week dosing regimen could still support its use.JPMorgan, meanwhile, noted that the data confirmed that Amlitelimab is less effective than Sanofi’s approved drug Dupixent, Reuters added. A Delaware federal judge on Friday reportedly said that Novartis (NVS) cannot block India-based drugmaker MSN Pharmaceuticals from launching a generic version of its heart failure drug Entresto before its patent expires late next year.The judge rejected Novartis’ argument that the generic would infringe on one of the company’s patents, Reuters <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/novartis-loses-bid-block-us-entresto-generic-through-2026-2025-07-11/">reported</a>. U.S. District Judge Richard Andrews also denied Novartis’ request to block the generic from launching until after the patent expires in November 2026.NYSE-listed shares of <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVS">Novartis</a> were trading 2% lower at the time of writing.Novartis told Reuters in a statement that it plans to appeal.The company told the court in a filing on Friday that MSN may receive the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s approval for the generic as soon as July 16 and launch it soon after, cutting into the market for Entresto.Entresto is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with long-lasting (chronic) heart failure to help reduce the risk of death and hospitalization. It was Novartis’s best-selling brand in the first quarter.The company reported $2.26 billion in net sales for the drug, marking a growth of 22% at constant currency. Novartis Fails To Block Heart Failure Drug’s Generic From Launching Through 2026: Report

Novartis’ heart failure drug Entresto accounted for over 17% of the company’s overall net sales in the first quarter of 2025.

Novartis (NVS) on Tuesday said that Swiss authorities have approved its Coartem Baby as the first malaria medicine for newborns and young infants.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVS">Novartis</a> developed the treatment, also known as Riamet Baby in some geographies, in collaboration with Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV).The company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.novartis.com/news/media-releases/novartis-receives-approval-first-malaria-medicine-newborn-babies-and-young-infants">said</a> that it now expects rapid approval for the treatment in eight African countries, including Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania. &nbsp;Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by a parasite and spread to humans by some types of mosquitoes. Novartis cited WHO data and noted that there were 263 million cases of malaria and 597,000 deaths in 2023, almost all of them in Africa.&nbsp;The company said it intends to introduce the infant-friendly treatment on a largely not-for-profit basis where malaria is endemic. According to Novartis, some 30 million babies are born in areas of malaria risk in Africa every year.The new approval is for the treatment of malaria in infants weighing between 2kg and 5kg. Novartis said there were no approved malaria treatments for infants weighing less than 4.5kg until now, leaving a treatment gap. Novartis Gets Swiss Authority Nod For First Malaria Drug In Newborns, Young Infants

The company said that it now expects rapid approval for the treatment in eight African countries, including Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania. 

Medicine company Novartis (NVS) said on Thursday that a late-stage trial evaluating its drug Cosentyx in adults with newly diagnosed or relapsing giant cell arteritis failed to meet its primary goal of sustained remission. &nbsp;Cosentyx was evaluated in combination with a 26-week steroid taper and compared to placebo plus a 52-week steroid taper in the trial. The drug, however, did not demonstrate a statistically significant improvement in sustained remission at week 52 compared to placebo.The company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.novartis.com/news/media-releases/novartis-provides-update-phase-iii-gcaptain-study-cosentyx-giant-cell-arteritis-gca">said</a> that it will share a full evaluation of the trial data at a later date.Shares of Novartis were trading 1% lower in the pre-market session.Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is the most common form of systemic vasculitis, a group of rare autoimmune diseases characterized by inflammation of blood vessels. Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is the most common form of systemic vasculitis, a group of rare autoimmune diseases characterized by inflammation of blood vessels.

U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman in Fort Worth, Texas, reportedly upheld the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) decision on Wednesday to remove Novo Nordisk's popular drugs, Ozempic and Wegovy, from its shortage list.Pittman said that the FDA had appropriately weighed supply and demand data for the drugs and properly removed them from the shortage list while rejecting a challenge brought by compounding pharmacies who sought to continue making copies of the drugs, Reuters <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/us-judge-upholds-fdas-removal-ozempic-wegovy-drug-shortage-list-2025-06-18/">reported</a>.Compounders are allowed to produce copies of drugs only when they are declared to be in short supply by the FDA. US Judge Upholds FDA Decision To Remove Wegovy, Ozempic From Shortage List In Move Against Compounding Pharmacies

Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk (NVO) <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.novonordisk.com/content/nncorp/global/en/news-and-media/news-and-ir-materials/news-details.html?id=916348">announced</a> on Thursday that it plans to initiate a late-stage development program with its experimental drug Amycretin for adults with obesity or those who are overweight, starting in the first quarter of 2026.Shares of NVO traded 3% higher on Thursday.The decision to advance the study of Amycretin into the late stage is based on feedback received from regulators following mid-stage studies.Amycretin is a single molecule that operates as both GLP-1 receptor agonist and amylin receptor agonist.While GLP-1 receptor agonists work by mimicking the natural hormone GLP-1, Amylin receptor agonists mimic the effects of the natural hormone amylin, reducing appetite.
