Distributed Exchange Through the use of its intermediary currency Lumens (XLM), a user can send any currency that they own to anyone else in a different currency.  For instance, if Joe wanted to send USD to Mary using her EUR, an offer is submitted to the distributed exchange selling USD for EUR. This submitted offer forms is known as an order book. The network will use the order book to find the best exchange rate for the transaction in-order to minimize the fee paid by a user.  This multi-currency transaction is possible because of "Anchors". Anchors are trusted entities that hold people’s deposits and can issue credit. In essence, Anchors serves as the bridge between different currencies and the Stellar network.  Lumens (XLM) Lumens are the native asset (digital currency) that exist on the Stellar network that helps to facilitate multi-currency transactions and prevent spams. For multi-currency transactions, XLM is the digital intermediary that allows for such a transaction to occur at a low cost.  In-order to prevent DoS attacks (aka spams) that would inevitably occur on the Stellar network, a small fee of 0.00001 XLM is associated with every transaction that occurs on the network. This fee is small enough so it does not significantly affect the cost of transaction, but large enough so it dissuades bad actors from spamming the network.   Prior to Protocol 12, Stellar had a built-in inflation mechanism conceived to allow account holders to collectively direct inflation-generated lumens toward projects built on Stellar.  As the network evolved and grew, it became increasingly clear that inflation wasn’t working as intended — account holders either didn’t set their inflation destination or joined inflation pools to claim the inflation themselves, and the operational costs associated with inflation payments continued to rise — and so a protocol change to disable inflation was proposed, implemented, voted on by validators, and ultimately adopted as part of a network upgrade. Litecoin uses the memory intensive Scrypt proof of work mining algorithm. Scrypt allows consumer-grade hardware such as GPU to mine those coins.  Why Litecoin? Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that has evolved from Bitcoin after its own popularity in the industry, this alternative, or ‘altcoin’ has emerged to allow investors to diversify their digital currency package, according to Investopedia. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

That would be 200 cancellations on Friday alone, according to the airline’s statement to the Financial Times.&nbsp;American Airlines Group, Inc. announced it would cancel approximately 220 flights per day from Friday to Monday, also representing a 4% reduction. Delta Air Lines, Inc. said it would cancel about 170 flights on Friday. The order goes into effect on Friday.&nbsp;“We are seeing signs of stress in the system, so we are proactively reducing the number of flights to make sure the American people continue to fly safely,” FAA Federal Aviation Administrator Bryan Bedford said in a statement.&nbsp;“The FAA will continue to closely monitor operations, and we will not hesitate to take further action to make sure air travel remains safe.”  &nbsp;As part of the order, the FAA said airlines must provide full refunds, excluding secondary costs. Delta Air, United, American Airlines Cancel About 700 Friday Flights After FAA Order To Reduce Air Traffic ‘Stress’

Earlier this week, 500 companies and groups operating in the travel industry, including transportation and hotels, signed a letter urging Congress to pass the spending bill and warning of potential chaos ahead of the holiday travel season if the shutdown continues.Executives from several airlines reportedly met with Vice President JD Vance last week with the same message. Expedia Gets Price-Target Hikes After Strong Q2, Outlook Raise: Retail Extremely Bullish

Shares of the online travel company rose 5.5% on Monday, higher than the 4% gains on Friday following its quarterly report.

Expedia Group (EXPE) shares surged over 17% in extended trading on Thursday, among the highest in the S&amp;P 500, after the travel booking company raised its full-year target.If the after-hours gains carry over into Friday, the stock could be on its way to its best session in four months.Expedia said its upgraded outlook, coming on the heels of stronger-than-expected Q2 results, is driven by a sharp rebound in business travel demand alongside a modest recovery among U.S. consumers.Booking Holdings (BKNG) and Airbnb (ABNB) also reported better-than-expected quarterly results recently, although both companies offered cautious outlooks. Tripadvisor, Inc. (TRIP) shares rallied over 6% in Wednesday’s extended trading as traders reacted to a report regarding activist investor Starboard’s interest in the online travel company.The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Starboard, run by fund manager Jeff Smith, now held an over 9% stake in the Needham, Massachusetts-based company. The stake will likely be disclosed on Thursday.At Wednesday’s closing price of $14.99 for&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/TRIP">Tripadvisor stock</a>, Starboard’s stake is valued at about $160 million.Starboard will now be one of the top shareholders of Tripadvisor. According to Yahoo Finance data, only&nbsp;BlackRock ($194.5 million) and Vanguard&nbsp;Group ($178.1 million) have higher stakes than Starboard.The activist’s increased interest comes after the company announced a $435 million deal to buy out its majority owner, Liberty TripAdvisor, in December.
