Litecoin uses the memory intensive Scrypt proof of work mining algorithm. Scrypt allows consumer-grade hardware such as GPU to mine those coins.  Why Litecoin? Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that has evolved from Bitcoin after its own popularity in the industry, this alternative, or ‘altcoin’ has emerged to allow investors to diversify their digital currency package, according to Investopedia. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Bank of America Securities agreed to resolve a U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) investigation involving two former traders at its U.S. Treasury desk for engaging in schemes to manipulate the “cash” market.Between November 2014 and about April 2020, the two former employees entered more than one thousand suspected spoof orders, which were placed without the intent to execute them at the time they were placed, the Justice Department said. One of the employees also manipulated the futures market for U.S. Treasuries by entering spoof orders, it added.“As part of the resolution, the Justice Department has declined to prosecute BoAS, and BoAS will disgorge approximately $1.96 million and contribute approximately $3.6 million to a victim compensation fund it will establish and administer,” the Justice Department said.The federal investigators noted the BofA unit’s “timely and voluntary self-disclosure” of the misconduct and its “full and proactive cooperation in this matter”, including providing all known information, as some of the reasons behind the decision.In 2023, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) fined BofA $24 million for the same case. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reportedly made a similar mortgage pledge as Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, who was fired by President Donald Trump over what he termed as “potentially criminal conduct.”According to a Bloomberg&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-17/bessent-like-fed-governor-made-contradictory-mortgage-pledges">report</a> citing Bessent’s mortgage applications with Bank of America Corp. (BAC), the Treasury Secretary agreed to occupy two different homes as his “primary residence” simultaneously,&nbsp;a pledge similar to the one made by Cook.Bessent secured financing from Bank of America for the two houses and other assets, totaling $21 million, in 2007. The first one was for a seven-bedroom Georgian manor in Bedford Hills, New York, and the second one for a beachfront house in Provincetown, Massachusetts, according to the report.It also noted that Bank of America had an “understanding and agreement that the Bedford and Provincetown properties were secondary residences.” Charles Rich, the lawyer who signed on Bessent’s behalf, added that the lender was “fully aware” of the situation.This comes after President Donald Trump&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/trump-says-will-fire-fed-lisa-cook-if-she-does-not-resign/chsZ3lYRd06">announced</a> in August that he would fire Cook due to allegations of mortgage fraud. Scott Bessent Made Contradictory Mortgage Pledges Like Fed Governor Lisa Cook: Report

According to a Bloomberg report citing Bessent’s mortgage applications with Bank of America, the Treasury Secretary agreed to occupy two different homes as his “primary residence” simultaneously, a pledge similar to one made by Cook.

JPMorgan &amp; Chase (JPM) stock edged higher in extended trading on Tuesday after the bank received a ratings upgrade from CFRA, while CNBC's Jim Cramer endorsed it to enter the coveted $1 trillion club."JPMorgan's got something special. It excels at so many things: lending, capital markets, trading, and perhaps most important, statesmanship, with CEO Jamie Dimon performing at a level that's rare for any industry," Cramer said, according to a CNBC report."JPMorgan has always been a top-quality bank, but it's now become a fantastic place to work, and its global reach is unmatched. There's a reason its market cap is so much bigger than the other major banks."Apart from the magnificent seven firms Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Tesla and Meta, only Berkshire Hathaway is valued above $1 trillion. JPMorgan's current market capitalization stands at approximately $850 billion, significantly above that of its U.S. peers. The next biggest lender is Bank of America, with a market capitalization of around $375 billion.Cramer noted that JPMorgan's stock is a "horse that's bided its time but is now at the far turn," while also acknowledging the strong performance of other U.S. banks. According to fiscal.ai data, the stock has a consensus price target of $306.17."With expected rate cuts and U.S. economic growth near 2.0%, we believe net interest income (NII) will make up for lower rates with higher loan volume activity in both consumer and commercial," Leon noted.Separately, the bank confirmed that it will raise its quarterly dividend to $1.50 from $1.40. The lender also launched a $50 billion share repurchase program in July, after JPMorgan and its peers easily passed the Federal Reserve's stress test, which assessed the bank's balance sheets against a worst-case scenario.JPMorgan stock has gained about 29% this year.
