Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Lumentum Stock On Track To Record 8th Consecutive Monthly Gain – What’s Making Analysts So Bullish?

The stock hit a record high on Wednesday, helped by positive commentary from top analysts and strong revenue expectations for the current quarter.

The announcement sent its shares up more than 6% in premarket trading.The company intends to purchase shares under the repurchase program opportunistically, using available funds, ensuring sufficient liquidity to fund its capital development program.“With the closing of Ramaco's previously announced $600-plus million (before fees) in capital raises in the second half of 2025, we are well-positioned. We can now pursue opportunities to unlock value and maximize shareholder returns,” said Randall Atkins, Chairman and CEO of Ramaco.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Strong Demand For Rare Earths Bodes Well For Ramaco</h2>Beyond capital returns, investors are tracking Ramaco’s push into rare earth minerals.&nbsp; Demand for rare earth minerals has been surging in the United States and globally, as they have become crucial for the production of EV batteries, play a vital role in the global transition to clean energy, and enable advanced defense systems. After A Sharp Rally In 2025, Ramaco Is Doubling Down With $100M Share Buyback

Ramaco’s CEO said that, with $600 million-plus (before fees) in capital raises in the second half of 2025, the firm is well-positioned to pursue opportunities to unlock value and maximize shareholder returns.

(NIO) traded 1% higher on Friday after a price target hike and upgrade.Freedom Capital upgraded Nio to ‘Buy’ from ‘Hold’ with a price target of $7, up from $6.50. The Chinese EV maker has shown accelerating delivery growth in recent quarters and intends to build on that momentum with the launch of two sub-brands, the firm noted. &nbsp;The analyst believes that rising shipments next year will drive the company's revenue to "new record levels."<h2 class="st-heading-2">Nio’s Rising Delivery Volume</h2>For the third quarter through the end of September, Nio delivered 87,071 vehicles, marking an increase of about 41% from the corresponding quarter of 2024. The company currently has three brands, including its premium Nio brand and two other brands, Onvo and Firefly, which offer cheaper offerings. In the third quarter (Q3), Nio delivered 36,928 vehicles from its Nio brand and 37,656 and 12,487 units from Onvo and Firefly, respectively.For the fourth quarter, the company <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/nio-stock-slips-after-q4-revenue-guidance-disappoints/cL52NcEREgI">expects</a> to deliver between 120,000 and 125,000 vehicles. Representing a growth of 65.1% to 72.0% year-over-year. However, in September, the company had said it was eyeing 150,000 deliveries in the three months through the end of December.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Barclays’ Take</h2>A less optimistic Barclays raised its price target on Nio to $4 from $3 on Friday, while keeping an ‘Underweight’ rating on the shares. The company's Q3 results showed better vehicle gross margins but higher sales and marketing expenses, the analyst told investors in a research note. The firm also noted that Nio's Q4 delivery guide is lower than expected.Nio is currently banking on strong demand for its new ES8 and Onvo L90 vehicles to drive delivery numbers in the last quarter of the year."The All-New NIO ES8 has set the fastest record for delivering over 10,000 units among BEVs priced above RMB400,000 in China, while the ONVO L90 has remained the top-selling large BEV SUV for three consecutive months, and FIREFLY has quickly secured a leading position in the small smart high-end electric car market since its first deliveries,” CEO William Li said on Tuesday. He added that the company is working closely with its supply chain partners to ramp up production.Nio had previously planned to launch the L80 this year but postponed it due to capacity Nio Gets A Price Target Hike, Upgrade From Freedom Capital – Analyst Expects Revenue At ‘New Record Levels’

Freedom Capital upgraded Nio to ‘Buy’ from ‘Hold’ with a price target of $7, while Barclays hiked its price target on the stock to $4.

The company agreed in July to buy respiratory drug developer Verona Pharma for $10 billion as part of a broader effort to maintain revenue momentum.With the new deal, Merck would gain access to Cidara’s lead candidate CD388 designed to prevent influenza infection in individuals at higher risk of influenza complications. CD388 has been granted a breakthrough designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which could accelerate regulatory approval.The treatment is currently being evaluated in a late-stage trial among both adult and adolescent participants who are at higher risk of developing complications from influenza. The trial is expected to enroll 6000 participants by December, the company said earlier this month.“This acquisition expands and complements our respiratory portfolio and pipeline. Influenza continues to pose a significant global health threat, causing widespread illness, morbidity and death each year especially in older adults and immunocompromised individuals, such as those with cancer and chronic diseases,” said Dr. Dean Y. Baidu’s Apollo Go Gets Dubai's First Autonomous Driving Test Permit, Commences On-Road Trials

Toyota now expects full-year 2026 operating income of 3.2 trillion yen ($21.73 billion), below its previous forecast of 3.8 trillion yen and margin of 6.6%, down from its previous estimate of 7.8%.Toyota, however, continues to expect 48.5 trillion yen in sales revenue for the fiscal year, as it previously said.Toyota on Thursday also pinned lower operating profit in the first quarter through the end of June to a negative impact of 450 billion yen from U.S. tariffs. The company’s first-quarter operating income came in at 1.2 trillion yen, marking a decrease of 0.1 trillion yen from the corresponding period of its previous fiscal year.Sales revenue was 12.25 trillion yen, up from the 11.84 trillion yen recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.Separately, Toyota on Thursday also said it plans to acquire land in the Teihoucho area of Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, to establish a new vehicle manufacturing plant.The automaker said that operations at its new plant will start in the early 2030s, and the models that will be made at the plant will be determined in the future.
