What Is Pi Network? Pi Network is a social cryptocurrency, developer platform, and ecosystem designed for widespread accessibility and real-world utility. Supply Model and Mining Mechanism The Maximum Supply of Pi is 100 billion tokens. The other allocations within the Effective Total Supply can then be calculated based on the same proportions as the Maximum Supply, e.g. at most 10% of the Effective Total Supply is available in the foundation reserve, 5% of the Effective Total Supply is available for liquidity purposes, and 20% of the Effective Total Supply is available for the Core Team. This remains true despite the fact that all tokens were minted at the genesis as technically required by the blockchain protocol.  Circulating Supply includes all Migrated Mining Rewards and all tokens that entered circulation from other buckets of the allocations, which at its maximum could be summed up to equal the Effective Total Supply.   Pi’s mining rewards are distributed based on an issuance formula that follows a declining exponential model defined in the Pi whitepaper. Users can increase the amount of mining rewards they receive based on their individual contributions to the network, like Security Circles, using utility-based Pi apps, running Nodes, etc. For each month, the amount of Pi to be distributed as mobile balance is capped and determined by the model, regardless of how many people or how many types of mining rewards there are during the month. The capping is achieved by the design of a system-wide base mining rate, and each type of mining rewards to each individual are just a multiplier of this base mining rate. As the monthly supplies always diminish, the base mining rate generally decreases over time.   Fewer Pi may also be issued because the real Pi issuance on the blockchain depends on Pioneers passing KYC and completing all steps required for migration to the Mainnet. Despite all efforts to facilitate and remind Pioneers to complete those required steps, there are always dropoffs along the way, resulting in less than all outstanding mobile balances to be issued on the blockchain. Because of this mechanism, the community issued amount (Migrated Mining Rewards) on the blockchain will likely be closer and closer to a line lower than the 65 billion. This is thus the reason for the variable Effective Total Supply which incorporates this effect. Effective Total Supply results from all Migrated Mining Rewards divided by 65%, as opposed to the Maximum Supply of 100 billion. Pi can be used as a medium of exchange for goods and services, including online commerce and local brick-and-mortar businesses. Lithium Americas (LAC) stock was in focus on Thursday as TD Cowen downgraded the stock after its meteoric rise in the earlier session.On Wednesday, the stock rallied nearly 96% in a stellar day of trading, marking its best session ever. TD Cowen Downgrades Lithium Americas Stock After 96% Rally On Potential US Stake

A record 289 million Lithium Americas shares traded hands on Wednesday, compared with its 200-day average trading volume of little over 7 million shares.

Honda Motor Co. (HMC) is reportedly ending the U.S. production of its Acura ZDX electric crossover, which was produced by General Motors (GM) at its Spring Hill Assembly plant.CNBC <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/24/honda-acura-ev-gm.html">reported</a> on Wednesday, citing a message to plant workers, that the company has decided to cancel all future production of the vehicle at the Tennessee facility. A Honda spokeswoman also confirmed the plans to CNBC, citing market conditions for EVs as the reason behind the decision. Production of the 2026 model year of the vehicle was expected to begin this month.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/HMC">HMC shares</a> traded 1.5% lower at the time of writing. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around HMC stayed within the ‘bullish’ territory while message volume stayed at ‘normal’ levels.The Honda spokeswoman told CNBC that the production of the Honda Prologue EV by GM will continue in Mexico. “To better align our product portfolio with the needs of our customers and market conditions, as well as our long-term strategic goals, we can confirm the Acura ZDX has ended production,” she told CNBC in a statement. She added that the ZDX will provide a foundation for the electric Acura RSX slated to be produced at the EV Hub in Ohio in the second half of 2026.Since the vehicle’s release in the U.S. last year, the company has sold approximately 19,000 ZDX models, CNBC noted. According to the report, the message to plant workers said that the companies are aligning EV production to better match slower demand, and the decision to end Acura ZDX production has nothing to do with the relationship between the companies or the quality of products.“Honda’s decision isn’t a reflection on the capabilities of the Spring Hill workforce or GM’s commitment to Spring Hill,” the message read, as reported by CNBC. Dow Futures Edge Lower As Investors Brace For Key Economic Data Releases This Week: BABA, MU, LAC, GM Among Stocks To Watch

While Dow Jones futures were down by 0.02% at the time of writing, the S&P 500 futures rose 0.13%.

General Motors Co. (GM) stock received a nice lift in Wednesday’s early premarket session following a bullish recommendation from a Wall Street firm.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GM">GM’s stock</a> climbed over 2.5% to $60.15 in premarket, as it remains on track to go past the $60 level for the first time since November last. UBS analyst Joseph Spak upgraded GM shares to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ and also revised up the price target to $81 from $56, according to the excerpts of the note published by The Fly. The new price target implies the stock has upside potential of 38%&nbsp;from the last close.Spak believes GM’s North American margins will likely return to the company’s existing target of 8%-10% as opposed to the consensus forecast of 6%-6.5%. Accordingly, UBS’s current 2026 and 2027 earnings estimates for GM exceeded the consensus estimates by 35% and 42%, respectively.While UBS sees tariffs adding to the company’s costs, it believes there will be no pass-through effect to consumers, given that the automaker has several levers to offset the headwind. The firm expects the Federal Reserve rate cuts and the U.S. capital expenditure cycles to potentially benefit GM.After slashing the Fed funds rate by a quarter point last week, the central bank is widely expected to reduce rates through early 2026. Lithium Americas' U.S. shares (LAC) jumped nearly 80% in extended trading on Tuesday after a report stated that the Trump administration wants to buy a stake in the company amid its efforts to renegotiate the terms of a $2.26 billion loan for the Thacker Pass project.According to a Reuters News <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/trump-administration-seeks-equity-stake-lithium-americas-amid-loan-talks-2025-09-23/">report</a>, citing sources familiar with the matter, Lithium Americas was expected to draw the first tranche of the loan earlier this month. However, U.S. officials chose to renegotiate the terms of the loan as the government remains concerned about the miner’s ability to repay the loan due to low lithium prices.The Thacker Pass project is expected to become the largest source of lithium in the Western Hemisphere upon its commencement in 2028. However, Trump officials are now seeking a guarantee that GM will buy the metal.Trump officials are also reportedly nudging GM to relinquish its control over parts of the project and transfer them to the federal government, according to the report. GM dubbed the loan a "necessary part of the financing to commercialize this important national resource" and reportedly added that Trump "strongly supported" the mine in his first term.“Load up!
