(GFS) said late Monday that it has acquired Advanced Micro Foundry (AMF), a silicon photonics foundry based in Singapore.Despite the 35% year-to-date (YTD) surge by the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SOXQ">Invesco PHLX Semiconductor ETF (SOXQ)</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GFS">GlobalFoundries stock</a> has fallen by 23%.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The AMF Deal</h2>GlobalFoundries said the AMF buy marks a “pivotal step” in its strategy to advance innovation and its leadership in silicon photonics. “This acquisition will expand GF’s silicon photonics technology portfolio, production capacity and research and development in Singapore, complementing its existing technology capabilities in the U.S. and unlocking new market opportunities with a broader set of datacenter and communication technologies.”The company noted that, as “traditional copper connections reach their physical limits, silicon photonics has emerged as a breakthrough technology that uses light to transfer data between and within data centers, delivering ultra-fast, energy-efficient performance.”The U.S. company now plans to establish a silicon photonic R&amp;D center of excellence in Singapore, partnering with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research, focusing on next-generation materials for ultra-fast data transfer at 400Gbps speed.In a presentation posted on GlobalFoundries’ website, the company said artificial intelligence (AI) will likely accelerate the adoption of silicon photonics. Accordingly, it estimates the silicon photonics wafer serviceable addressable market (SAM) to grow by more than 800% between 2026 and 2032, reaching $6.5 billion. GlobalFoundries Buys Singapore’s AMF To Beef Up Technology Used In AI Data Centers: Stock Slips Premarket

Fox's claim that Newsom lied was "calculated to provoke outrage and cause Governor Newsom significant harm," according to his complaint.The damages he has sought are identical to the settlement amount Fox News paid Dominion Voting Systems in 2023. Too early to buy Russell 2000, BofA says

Investing.com -- Bank of America (BofA) relayed a cautious stance on the Russell 2000, suggesting it is too early for investors to buy into the small-cap index despite the recent sell-off.

Shares of Playtika Holding Corp. (PLTK) surged on Wednesday despite the tech sector's weakness following&nbsp;BofA Securities' upbeat commentary.Israel-based Playtika is a mobile game developer that owns a portfolio of casual and social casino-themed games and distributes them through web, mobile, and direct-to-consumer platforms.On Wednesday, BofA analysts double upgraded&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/PLTK">Playtika stock&nbsp;</a>to ‘Buy’ from ‘Underperform’ and upped the price target to $6.50 from $6, TheFly reported.&nbsp;The brokerage said Playtika has the highest profitability in the industry, with 30% earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) margins, and it is the industry’s largest direct-to-consumer platform.&nbsp;It also noted that the company has three of the largest and longest-running franchises in mobile gaming history.BofA thinks the downside to the shares is limited due to the next 12 months' free cash flow yield remaining at an all-time high of 21% and the 9% dividend yield.According to the analyst, the recent "share price dislocation" has been driven by the exit of a large shareholder in low trading liquidity, concerns that Playtika's transition to growth has taken too long, and investor preference for mobile ad network assets over publishers.Playtika stock, which moved sideways from the start of 2025, pulled back along with the broader market weakness in mid-February.
