This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Oracle Stock Rally Catapults Larry Ellison Close To 'Friend' Elon Musk For Title Of World’s Richest Man

Oracle shares jumped nearly 30% in Tuesday’s extended session after the database giant issued an upbeat forward-looking outlook, citing strength in the cloud business. Investors largely ignored the company’s underwhelming quarterly results.After settling Tuesday’s regular session up 1.27%, Oracle’s stock jumped 28.36% in extended trading. If the after-hours gains are sustained in Wednesday’s session, the stock is expected to record its best day since the dot-com bubble peak of mid-1999. On the other hand, software revenue fell 1% to $5.72 billion.&nbsp;Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO), a key metric of future revenue potential, jumped 359% to $455 billion. Oracle CEO Safra Catz said the company signed four multi-billion-dollar contracts with three customers in the first quarter, pushing up the RPO contract backlog.“Over the next few months, we expect to sign up several additional multi-billion-dollar customers and RPO is likely to exceed half-a-trillion dollars,” the executive said. She also hinted at Cloud infrastructure revenue growing 77% to $18 billion in the current fiscal year, before jumping to $32 billion, $73 billion, $114 billion and $144 billion over the subsequent four years.&nbsp;Catz said, “Most of the revenue in this 5-year forecast is already booked in our reported RPO. Oracle is off to a brilliant start to FY26."The executive stated that the company will share more details at its Financial Analyst Meeting, scheduled for October.Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison noted that MultiCloud database revenue from Amazon, Google and Microsoft grew at the incredible rate of 1,529% in the quarter. “We expect MultiCloud revenue to grow substantially every quarter for several years as we deliver another 37 datacenters to our three Hyperscaler partners, for a total of 71,” he added.Ellison said the company plans to introduce a new Cloud infrastructure service, called “Oracle AI Database,” which allows customers&nbsp;to use large language models (LLMs) of their choice directly on its database.On the earnings call, Catz guided second-quarter revenue growth to 14%-16%, aligning with the 15% consensus growth forecast, and Cloud revenue growth to 33%-37%. Database giant Oracle Corp. (ORCL) has trimmed its workforce at three of its locations in California, according to the “Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification” filings with the state on Tuesday.The filings done to comply with the WARN Act of 1988 showed that the cuts were at Oracle’s offices in Redwood City (187), Pleasanton (36) and Santa Clara (31).
