This week its made a $2 billion purchase of Bitcoin – its second such purchase in less than a month – bringing its total holdings to nearly 850,000. Despite the moves, both funds managed relatively small asset bases.Both ETFs stopped trading on&nbsp;April 10.<h2 class="st-heading-2">ETF Graveyard Keeps Growing&nbsp;</h2>Direxion and AXS Investments, the major issuers of leveraged trading products, accounted for most of the April closures, alongside Tidal Investments and Volatility Shares. Beyond crypto, the shutdown list included leveraged bets on individual companies and sectors like Nvidia (NVDA), AMD (AMD), DoorDash (DASH), Boeing (BA) and Shopify (SHOP). "The closures are dwarfed by the dozens of 2x-ers that launch every month," Balchunas said.These leveraged ETFs use borrowed money and derivatives to double, or reverse daily market moves. They're built for day traders making quick bets, not long-term investors, and they can lose money fast when markets move against them.The crypto-focused leveraged ETF boom has diverged.&nbsp;While products like LMBO and REKT failed to gain traction, leveraged ETFs tracking Strategy (MSTR), like Defiance Daily Target 2x Long MSTR ETF (MSTX) and T-Rex 2X Long MSTR Daily Target ETF (MSTU), and GraniteShares 2x Long COIN Daily ETF (CONL) have survived and continue to trade.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MSTR">Strategy’s price</a> was trading over $166, down by 0.03% during the morning trade. 'No One Cares' – Over 20 Leveraged ETFs Shut Down In April, Including Crypto's LMBO And REKT

Despite several closures, the leveraged crypto ETF market remains competitive, as ETFs tied to MSTR and COIN continue trading.

Strategy's mNAV currently stands at over 1.22, which is above the level at which selling would become accretive, he added.The key driver of the change was the emergence of digital credit, he said. Over the past 10 months, Strategy has raised $8.5 billion in a perpetual preferred stock instrument called Stretch, which provides an 11.5% cash dividend every month.The business has around $1.5 billion in yearly dividend obligations and about 18 months of dividend coverage at the present run rate, Le added, backed by nearly $60 billion in Bitcoin assets. Saylor outlined how selling STRC preferred stock generates upfront Bitcoin gains without diluting common shareholders.&nbsp;"If we sell $10 billion of STRC, we'll generate a $10 billion gain on that upfront. Most of the BTC gain and the yield comes from the credit, not from the equity right now." Every dollar of STRC sold buys Bitcoin. Bitcoin appreciation widens the NAV gap. A wider NAV gap allows MSTR equity to be sold at a premium, generating further amplification.&nbsp;"When we're selling the equity at a premium to the underlying NAV, it turns out to be accretive to the common stock and a benefit to the credit investor," he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">ETF Demand Builds Around Digital Credit Products</h2>The ETF infrastructure is already forming around STRC. On Monday, Nakamoto's UTXO Management launched a dual-class structured fund targeting STRC at the Bitcoin 2026 Conference, with CIO Tyler Evans noting the market "has matured significantly, but institutional access remains fragmented.Meanwhile, BlackRock's&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/PFF">iShares Preferred &amp; Income Securities ETF (PFF)</a> holds approximately $210 million in STRC as its fourth-largest position.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ASST">Strive (ASST)</a> and Tuttle Capital&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/vivek-ramaswamy-backed-strive-plans-bitcoin-credit-etf-tied-to-mstr-asst/cZERAC2RIN7">filed</a> for DGCR, the first dedicated digital credit ETF, on March 30, awaiting approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Stablecoins And Exchanges Could Extend STRC Demand</h2>Saylor said crypto exchanges could eventually offer “digital yield accounts” that pay fixed returns on deposits, while stablecoin issuers may use instruments like STRC to generate yield for users.He stated that the final layer targets the $350 billion stablecoin market. MSTR Stock Gains After Strategy Spends Another $76 Million On Bitcoin While Sitting On $4B Unrealized Loss 

Michael Saylor-backed Strategy added 1,031 Bitcoin for $76.6 million over the past week, bringing total holdings to 762,099 BTC.
