The appointment will come into effect from January 1, 2026. Garg is currently the company’s whole-time director &amp; COO. He will become the first Indian national to lead the company in its 29-year history.Garg will succeed Unsoo Kim, who will return to a strategic role at Hyundai Motor Company in South Korea.Garg was initially appointed as the Head of Sales, Service and Marketing at Hyundai India in 2019, before becoming the chief operating officer in 2023.Ambitious ₹45,000 crore investment planHyundai Motor India also announced an ambitious ₹45,000 crore investment plan by FY30. At its first-ever Investor Day in Mumbai, the automaker revealed plans for extensive product expansion, advanced manufacturing, and deeper localization to drive long-term growth in India.The roadmap includes 26 new product launches, with seven new nameplates, marking Hyundai’s entry into the MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) space and off-road SUV segments. However, prices have taken support at a upward-sloping trendline and remain well above the 100-day SMA, reflecting a positive long-term structure.&nbsp;The ₹2,360–₹2,265 zone remains a crucial support area. A breakdown here could trigger a decline to sideways movement for some period. (TMPVL).&nbsp;Eligible shareholders of Tata Motors will be eligible to receive one share of the demerged entity for every one share they own. Shares currently carry a face value of ₹2 each.Demerger DetailsThe demerger scheme separates the passenger and commercial vehicle businesses. Tata Motors’ shares fell as much as 2.6% to ₹665 on Thursday after the Financial Times reported that its unit Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is poised to incur the entire cost of a major cyberattack, having failed to secure insurance coverage.It was the top decliner on the benchmark Nifty50 index.Cybersecurity BreachJLR was forced to shut its IT systems on September 1 after it was reported to have been hacked. This led to disruptions across manufacturing, retail, and supply chain operations. The company’s three UK plants, which typically produce around 1,000 cars per day, have been idle for more than four weeks, reportedly impacting 33,000 employees.The cyberattack has forced JLR to halt production, initially until September 24, and later extended to October 1.Mounting CostsWhile the company has not provided an official estimate of the financial damage, reports indicate losses of nearly £50 million per week. Auto stocks gained in a subdued market as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai reported record Navratri sales.

India’s auto sector drew attention on Monday as GST 2.0 came into effect, marking the most significant change in tax rules since the Goods and Services Tax was first introduced.&nbsp;The reform has simplified the tax structure for passenger vehicles, bringing relief to car buyers across the country.MRF, Bajaj Auto and Hero Motocorp shares led with gains of nearly 2% on Monday.&nbsp;&nbsp;GST Changes For AutomobilesUnder the new framework, most small cars, two-wheelers up to 350cc, three-wheelers, buses, trucks and auto parts are now taxed at 18% compared with 28% earlier. Big cars, luxury vehicles and SUVs will continue to fall in the higher 40% tax bracket.Most automakers have already reduced prices by rolling back the benefit. Tata Motors has cut vehicle prices by up to ₹1.55 lakh, while Royal Enfield has made its popular 350cc range up to ₹22,000 cheaper. Maruti Suzuki India has announced a significant price cut across its entry-level models following the reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on automobiles.The company confirmed that it will pass on the full benefit of the revised rates to customers, in line with the updated GST regulations.In a filing to stock exchanges, Maruti said the move aims to provide an added boost to the Indian passenger vehicle market, which has been showing signs of recovery.The company outlined model-wise reductions, with the S-Presso seeing the sharpest cut of up to ₹129,600, bringing its starting price down to ₹349,900.The Alto K10 will now start at ₹369,900 after a price cut of up to ₹107,600.
