Goldman noted that BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Renault now trade at negative industrial stub valuations, which it called “premature,” and said the premium segment remains the most undervalued part of the market.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Automakers Goldman Sees As Attractive Value Opportunities</h2>Goldman highlighted several automakers that it believes offer meaningful upside. The company initiated BMW with a ‘Buy’ rating and a 112 euro price target, implying a 32% upside. Mercedes-Benz was also initiated with a ‘Buy’ rating and a 74 euro price target, representing a 30% upside. Goldman said it likes both BMW and Mercedes-Benz for their “healthy” balance sheets and “shareholder-friendly” capital allocation frameworks.The bank initiated Ferrari with a ‘Buy’ rating and a $454 price target, giving the stock a 35% upside. Goldman said Ferrari’s higher-priced Special Series volumes support stronger selling prices and growth.Goldman also said Renault offers the same “attractive value” seen across premium automakers. Ferrari shares rose&nbsp;over 1% in premarket trading on Friday, recovering some ground after a bruising day, as investors weighed the luxury automaker’s new long-term financial targets and the first look at the technology behind its debut electric car.The Italian carmaker set a 2030 revenue goal of €9 billion, up from a forecast of €7.1 billion for 2025 but below Wall Street’s expectations, along with an adjusted core profit target of at least €3.6 billion. The muted outlook took the shine off the unveiling of the technology behind Ferrari’s first fully electric model, the Elettrica, at its Maranello headquarters.&nbsp;That sent U.S.-listed shares tumbling nearly 15% on Thursday, their worst day since debuting on the NYSE 10 years ago.At the event, CEO Benedetto Vigna called the unveiling “a historic day” for Ferrari, saying the new Elettrica is meant to complement rather than replace its traditional petrol and hybrid cars. The company has also scaled back its electrification goals, now targeting a 2030 lineup comprising 40% internal combustion models, 40% hybrids, and 20% fully electric vehicles, a significant shift from its earlier 2022 target of 40% EVs.The company showcased the Elettrica’s production-ready chassis, featuring in-house battery packs and electric motors developed at Ferrari’s new “e-building.” The completed model, set for a global premiere next year, will reach a top speed of 310 km/h and have a range of at least 530 km. A specially engineered sound system will amplify authentic powertrain vibrations to give the car a distinct “electric Ferrari” identity.In its drive to build a wider lifestyle brand, Ferrari will launch two flagships in London and New York in 2026, with “tailor-made” customization hubs in Tokyo and Los Angeles in 2027. The company also reported that its active customer base has increased by around 20% since 2022 to 90,000.Ferrari continues to trade at premium valuations despite the recent selloff. Its forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple has climbed 71.1% over time, pointing to an implied annual growth rate of 5.6%, while peers have contracted: Mercedes-Benz is down 3.7%, Porsche AG has plunged 66.7%, and BMW has declined 20.3%.According to Koyfin, Ferrari’s 12-month average price target suggests a 26.5% upside from its current price of $407.38. Over the past year, the stock has fallen 10.8%. Ferrari Stock Trots Back Up Premarket After Worst Day Ever: Retail Bulls Hold Their Conviction

The Italian luxury carmaker’s stock continues to trade at premium valuations despite the recent selloff. 

Chinese automakers have already captured the country’s middle-class drivers, and now they are targeting wealthy buyers seeking exclusivity. Xiaomi recently launched a customization service for its 529,900-yuan ($74,000) SU7 Ultra electric sedan, allowing buyers to personalize the trim and paint jobs for an additional 100,000 yuan.&nbsp;The program, also available for the 329,900-yuan YU7 Max SUV, offers extras like 24-karat gold hood badges and forged wheel hubs, echoing the bespoke options long offered by brands like Porsche and Bentley, according to a Bloomberg&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-05/porsche-and-xiaomi-face-off-over-custom-model-buyers-in-china">report</a>.The smartphone maker’s move pits it directly against Porsche, which is expanding its Exclusive Manufaktur program in China as sales of its Taycan EV slow. While Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra undercuts the 918,000-yuan Taycan, it bears a strong resemblance to the German model.More than 90% of Porsche 911 buyers opt for personalized features, often spending tens of thousands of dollars on custom paint jobs or interior upgrades. Citi analyst Harald Hendrikse estimates Porsche’s personalization arm generates €5.6 billion in sales and up to €2.5 billion in profit annually. Xiaomi Takes On Porsche And Rolls-Royce With 24-Karat Gold EV Customization Push

Xiaomi has launched a luxury customization program for its SU7 Ultra electric sedan, offering gold badges, bespoke paint jobs, and premium trims to attract high-end buyers. 

Sports car maker Porsche (POAHY) said on Friday that its customers will gain access to Tesla Inc.’s (TSLA) supercharger network starting Tuesday.Porsche owners will gain access to 23,500 Tesla superchargers in North America, making charging Porsche EVs easier. Porsche will supply a NACS-DC adapter to customers who purchase charging on the network. While customers will have to use the Tesla app to enable charging initially, charging via the My Porsche app and plug-and-charge is expected to follow in the coming months, the company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/2025/products/dedicated-to-choice-porsche-owners-can-now-access-the-tesla-supercharger-network.html">said</a>.All new Model Year 2026 Porsche Taycan and Macan Electric models will include a Porsche NACS DC adapter at no additional fee.While Model Year 2025 Taycan customers, as well as all existing Macan Electric customers, are eligible for a complimentary adapter, Model Year 2024 and older Taycan customers will need to purchase the adapter for $185.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/POAHY">POAHY stock</a> rose 2% at the time of writing. Ford was the first rival player to gain access to the network, followed by General Motors, Rivian, Polestar, and Honda, among others. BMW, Toyota, Volkswagen, and a few others are also expected to join the bandwagon soon.&nbsp;The collaboration between Porsche and Tesla comes in spite of the rivalry between the two companies. Tesla has previously sought to beat the Porsche Taycan’s lap time at the Nürburgring race track with a modified Tesla Model S. Musk has also said that the Roadster would beat Porsche’s lap times.During the start of Cybertruck deliveries in November 2023, Tesla also showed a video that demonstrated the Cybertruck could tow a 911 faster than the 911 could travel on its own.
