The Stellar network is an open source, distributed, and community owned network used to facilitate cross-asset transfers of value. Stellar aims to help facilitate cross-asset transfer of value at a fraction of a penny while aiming to be an open financial system that gives people of all income levels access to low-cost financial services. Stellar can handle exchanges between fiat-based currencies and between cryptocurrencies. Stellar is also a payment technology that aims to connect financial institutions and drastically reduce the cost and time required for cross-border transfers. In fact, both payment networks used the same protocol initially.  Distributed Exchange Through the use of its intermediary currency Lumens (XLM), a user can send any currency that they own to anyone else in a different currency.  For instance, if Joe wanted to send USD to Mary using her EUR, an offer is submitted to the distributed exchange selling USD for EUR. This submitted offer forms is known as an order book. The network will use the order book to find the best exchange rate for the transaction in-order to minimize the fee paid by a user.  This multi-currency transaction is possible because of "Anchors". Anchors are trusted entities that hold people’s deposits and can issue credit. In essence, Anchors serves as the bridge between different currencies and the Stellar network.  Lumens (XLM) Lumens are the native asset (digital currency) that exist on the Stellar network that helps to facilitate multi-currency transactions and prevent spams. For multi-currency transactions, XLM is the digital intermediary that allows for such a transaction to occur at a low cost.  In-order to prevent DoS attacks (aka spams) that would inevitably occur on the Stellar network, a small fee of 0.00001 XLM is associated with every transaction that occurs on the network. This fee is small enough so it does not significantly affect the cost of transaction, but large enough so it dissuades bad actors from spamming the network.   Prior to Protocol 12, Stellar had a built-in inflation mechanism conceived to allow account holders to collectively direct inflation-generated lumens toward projects built on Stellar.  As the network evolved and grew, it became increasingly clear that inflation wasn’t working as intended — account holders either didn’t set their inflation destination or joined inflation pools to claim the inflation themselves, and the operational costs associated with inflation payments continued to rise — and so a protocol change to disable inflation was proposed, implemented, voted on by validators, and ultimately adopted as part of a network upgrade. (PONY) stock rose over 3% in premarket trading on Monday after the company announced an expanded partnership with Sunlight Mobility to implement an asset-light model, wherein the latter will fund the latest iteration of Pony’s robotaxi vehicles, with an initial fleet to be deployed in Guangzhou before year-end 2025.</p><p>The company said this partnership was building on the initial collaboration established in June 2024 with Sunlight Mobility, a mobility service platform operator covering over 180 cities across China.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>The New Expanded Partnership</strong></h2><p>Under the new agreement, both companies plan to further expand into other cities in China in the coming years. Pony AI noted that an increasing number of third parties are willing to fund fleet deployment and lease its “Virtual Driver” for commercial operations.</p><p>Pony AI said that Sunlight Mobility brings deep expertise in digital mobility platform operations, including huge user traffic, product feature development, and fleet supply dispatch. The company added that this helps enhance the user experience and boost operational efficiency.</p><p>In particular, the collaborative autonomous driving vehicle fleet supply will be integrated into both Pony AI and Sunlight Mobility's platforms, enabling both parties to share economic benefits, Pony AI said.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>How Did Stocktwits Users React?</strong></h2><p>Pony AI stock was among the top three trending tickers on Stocktwits. However, the country’s leading autonomous-driving companies, Xpeng, Baidu, WeRide, and&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://pony.ai">Pony.ai</a>,, are accelerating toward mass deployment of robotaxis and early-stage physical AI.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Deutsche Bank Flags 2026 Downturn Risks</strong></h2><p>Deutsche Bank analyst Bin Wang said in a note that he expects softer auto sales growth in the first quarter of 2026 as buyers bring purchases forward into late 2025 ahead of policy changes. Those include the expected reduction of trade-in subsidies and the planned introduction of a new purchase tax for new-energy vehicles, according to a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.wsj.com/business/auto-transport-roundup-market-talk-f8d95d41?mod=autos_news_article_pos1">report</a> by The Wall Street Journal.</p><p>Wang said sector-wide margins are likely to come under pressure next year as some automakers absorb the cost of policy shifts. He also highlighted a potential offsetting factor in the second half of 2026: the possibility of a tax reduction for internal combustion engine vehicles, which could help support demand, margins, and investor sentiment.</p><p>But even as the traditional momentum softens, China’s autonomous-driving sector is gaining traction.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>HSBC Sees Autonomous Driving Near A Demand ‘Inflection Point’</strong></h2><p>In contrast to near-term pressure, HSBC Global Research said rapid commercialization of autonomous driving and early robotics is building momentum across China’s auto and mobility markets. Robotaxis are entering early commercialization, and robotics is showing signs of initial mass production, pointing to developments the firm says could mark a longer-term demand inflection point as regulations evolve, consumer adoption improves, and major players advance toward key milestones.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Chinese Players Race Toward 2026 Driverless Deployment</strong></h2><p>Chinese companies are aggressively&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/elon-musk-says-tesla-fsd-may-roll-out-in-china-next-year-can-it-beat-xpeng-baidu-and-local-rivals/cL2vFXGRETI">preparing for large-scale driverless fleets</a> beginning in 2026. XPeng plans to roll out three mass-produced Level 4 robotaxi models next year, using its proprietary “AI Driver” system powered by four in-house Turing chips delivering up to 3,000 TOPS of compute. The company has partnered with Alibaba’s Amap to integrate real-time traffic and navigation data and operate robotaxis without relying on traditional high-definition maps.</p><p>Baidu’s Apollo Go already operates more than 1,000 fully driverless robotaxis across 15 cities, including Beijing, Wuhan, and Chongqing, and has completed over 11 million rides. The company plans international expansion, with fully driverless services scheduled for Dubai, Germany, and the U.K. in 2026.</p><p>WeRide continues to run a fully driverless service in Guangzhou, while Pony.ai operates autonomous fleets in Shenzhen and Beijing and aims to grow to 1,000 vehicles by year-end. Backed by Toyota, Pony.ai has secured partnerships to bring driverless services to Dubai and Qatar.</p><p>Pony.ai said China is closing the technology gap with U.S. competitors, citing the country’s lower-cost sensor supply chain and deep engineering talent pool.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Tesla Seeks Full Approval For FSD In China</strong></h2><p>Tesla is also intensifying its push in China. CEO Elon Musk recently said regulators indicated the company could receive full approval for its Full Self-Driving system by February or March 2026. Tesla currently has partial permissions to conduct limited public trials.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Xpeng And Baidu Lead Bullish Chatter On Stocktwits</strong></h2><p>On Stocktwits, retail sentiment was ‘bullish’ for XPeng (XPEV) and Baidu (BIDU), while it was ‘bearish’ for Pony.ai (PONY), WeRide (WRD) and Tesla (TSLA). The Future Fund’s Gary Black renewed&nbsp;a&nbsp;warning that the company’s lofty 200x valuation rests on a “fool’s narrative” around robots and autonomy. His remarks come as Tesla launches a U.S. rental program to address slumping EV demand, faces executive exits, and CEO Elon Musk revives Cybertruck promotion.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Gary Black Renews Valuation Critique</strong></h2><p>The Future Fund’s Managing Partner, Gary Black, reiterated his bearish stance on Tesla’s valuation, calling investor faith in its robot and autonomy roadmap a “fool’s narrative” given that more than 70% of Tesla’s profits still come from electric vehicles.</p><p>“Tesla bulls say it doesn’t matter that Tesla October global volumes are down 30–35% year over year since the business is transitioning to unsupervised autonomy and humanoid robots. That’s a fool’s narrative,”&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/garyblack00/status/1988326178592292864">Black wrote on X</a>.</p><p>He argued that while Tesla once had a first-mover advantage with highly profitable EVs, “nobody else except BYD has made money on EVs,” and Tesla’s edge has narrowed. Black said fully autonomous ride-hailing is a commodity business where Chinese manufacturers like Baidu, Pony.ai, and WeRide already complete around 450,000 paid fully autonomous rides each week and plan to license their technology broadly.</p><p>“I have said for years that unsupervised autonomy is table stakes for anyone in the automotive business, and that prediction looks more prescient every day,” Black added, noting that few Wall Street models project meaningful profits from autonomous ride-hailing or humanoid robots. “It’s hilarious that Tesla bulls cheerlead without even attempting to justify Tesla’s valuation.”</p><p>Black concluded that Tesla’s 200x forward price-to-earnings ratio is “difficult to justify in what is clearly a commodity business… where Tesla is one of many fighting for market share.”</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Tesla Turns To Rentals As US Sales Slide</strong></h2><p>Amid a sharp slowdown in U.S. demand following the end of the federal EV tax credit, Tesla has launched a new short-term rental program at select stores. The initiative lets customers rent vehicles for three to seven days at rates starting at $60 per day, including free Supercharging and access to Full Self-Driving (Supervised), according to an Electrek&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://electrek.co/2025/11/10/tesla-cant-sell-cars-so-renting-them-now/">report</a>.</p><p>Tesla said renters who order a car within seven days of their rental will receive a $250 purchase credit. The program, currently available in Southern California, is expected to expand nationwide before year-end.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Cybertruck, Executive Exits Add Pressure</strong></h2><p>CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday took to X to&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/cybertruck-is-awesome-elon-musk-doubles-down-on-hype-amid-executive-exits-at-tesla/cLPdSCKREP5">renew enthusiasm for the Cybertruck</a>, replying to users defending the vehicle as Tesla’s “best” model. Musk responded to one owner, “Cybertruck is awesome,” and agreed with another who said it was “the best Tesla,” replying, “true.”</p><p>The renewed promotion follows a wave of challenges for the stainless-steel pickup — including recalls, lawsuits, and key personnel exits. Cybertruck program manager Siddhant Awasthi and Model Y program manager Emmanuel Lamacchia both announced their departures from Tesla this week.</p><p>In late October, Tesla recalled about 6,200 Cybertrucks, roughly 10% of all units sold, over a faulty adhesive in the off-road light bar, while lawsuits have alleged door handle defects in fatal accidents.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2"><strong>Product Refresh&nbsp;</strong></h2><p>Tesla’s Model Y remains its best-selling vehicle, accounting for most of the company’s 481,166 combined deliveries of Model 3 and Model Y units in the third quarter.
