(BTE) is setting the stage for growth in 2026 with a $625 million capital budget and plans to return a significant part of its Eagle Ford sale proceeds to shareholders. Additionally, the announcement of a new leadership signals a shift in priorities for the year ahead.Shares of BTE climbed over 2% in Monday's pre-market trade.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Capital Budget Usage</h2>Baytex Energy announced a capital budget of $550 to $625 million for 2026, a target of 3% to 5% production growth reaching about 75,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) in 2028.The company’s 2026 exploration and development budget aims to generate an average annual production of 67,000 to 69,000 boe/d and is expected to deliver 3% to 5% production growth from 2025 levels.Of this, about 55% of the budget will be allocated to light oil assets, and the remaining 45% to heavy oil assets, the company said. Production in the first quarter (Q1) of 2026 is expected to average 68,000 to 69,000 boe/d, with plans to scale to 70,000 boe/d at the end of the year. The company also plans to bring 91 heavy-oil wells onstream, with 2026 production averaging 43,000 to 44,000 bbl/d.Of the total capital expenses, $50 to $75 million growth capital will be focused on the Pembina Duvernay and northeast Alberta Mannville, $50 million will be directed towards infrastructure investment that will include anchor oil batteries and water infrastructure in the Pembina Duvernay, and gas conservation in Peace River, and another $50 million will go towards exploration and land investments, the company said."Looking ahead, we are targeting 3% to 5% annual production growth while investing in exploration and infrastructure for future development. Supported by our industry-leading net cash balance sheet, we are prioritizing shareholder returns in 2026," Eric T. Why Are Birkenstock Shares Rising Premarket?

German sandal&nbsp;maker Birkenstock has filed an infringement lawsuit in India's capital, New Delhi, against four footwear traders, four factories, and two unnamed individuals following a company investigation revealed the production, sale, and export of counterfeit products, according to a Reuters report.The&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/birkenstock-cracks-down-fakes-india-court-ordered-factory-visits-held-sources-2025-07-06/">report</a>, which cites people familiar with the matter,&nbsp;comes as the footwear industry is garnering increased attention in India. Earlier this month, Crocs (CROX) secured a court nod to pursue a nine-year-old infringement case. At the same time,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/prada-credits-centuries-old-indian-kolhapuri-craftsmanship-behind-open-toe-sandals-design-unveiled-at-milan-show/chmZe7GRReZ">Prada drew criticism</a> after its sandals at a Milan showcase looked nearly identical to Indian Khandasari chappals, prompting the Italian fashion brand to acknowledge the similarity.According to the report, Birkenstock filed the lawsuit in the Delhi High Court in May. It claims that Birkenstock counterfeits were being manufactured in rural areas near the North Indian tourist hub of Agra and sold both locally and exported to other countries. Birkenstock Reportedly Sues Indian Footwear Makers Over Counterfeits Amid Rising Industry Scrutiny

Nasdaq-listed shares of argenx SE (ARGX) rose 2% by Friday afternoon after the company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://argenx.com/news/2024/argenx-announces-european-commission-approval-of-vyvgart--efgart">announced</a> that the European Commission approved its VYVGART 1,000 mg subcutaneous (SC) injection in the treatment of adult patients with progressive or relapsing active chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).CIDP is a rare and often progressive autoimmune disease of the peripheral nervous system. Patients with CIPD experience a range of mobility and sensory issues, including trouble standing from a seated position, pain and fatigue, and frequent tripping or falling.The European Commission approved the subcutaneous injection as a monotherapy for patients with the disease who have received prior treatment with corticosteroids or immunoglobulins.The EC approval will apply to all 27 European Union Member States, as well as to Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.VYVGART for SC injection is available as a vial or prefilled syringe and can be administered by a patient, caregiver, or healthcare professional. The company stated that it is “working closely” with local regulatory authorities to ensure patients can access the treatment as soon as possible.The approval is based on a clinical trial that demonstrated 66.5% of patients treated with VYVGART SC showed evidence of clinical improvement, including improvements in mobility, function, and strength.
