Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Energy Transfer (ET) stock rose 1.3% in extended trading on Wednesday after the company signed a non-binding deal with Midocean Energy to develop the Lake Charles liquefied natural gas project in Louisiana.Under the Heads of Agreement, MidOcean would commit to finance 30% of the construction costs of the LNG project and would be entitled to receive 30% of the LNG production, amounting to 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). &nbsp; MidOcean, formed and managed by EIG Global Energy Partners, will have the option to arrange gas supply for its share of LNG production and commit to long-term gas transportation on Energy Transfer pipelines.The Lake Charles facility, located on the Calcasieu ship channel, is converting Energy Transfer’s existing Lake Charles LNG import and regasification terminal to an LNG export facility.The company has regulatory authorization to export up to 16.45 MTPA of LNG from the project. Energy Transfer expects to make a final investment decision in the fourth quarter of 2025. Energy Transfer (ET) stock fell nearly 2% in after-market trade on Tuesday after the company’s fourth-quarter revenue missed Wall Street’s estimate.According to Koyfin data, the company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $19.54 billion, missing the average analysts’ estimate of $21.41 billion.Its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $3.88 billion also fell short of Wall Street’s estimate of $3.97 billion.Lower transportation revenue, primarily from the Bakken pipeline, and reduced marketing earnings hurt the company's bottom line.The company’s crude oil transportation volumes rose 15% during the fourth quarter compared to the same period last year, aided by higher volumes in the Permian basin.According to the Energy Information Administration data, U.S. oil production hit a fresh record in 2024, aided by robust growth in the Permian, the largest shale oilfield in the U.S.Gas transported on the company’s Texas and Oklahoma intrastate pipelines decreased primarily due to less third-party transportation and reduced gas production from the Haynesville area.Energy Transfer projected its 2025 Adjusted EBITDA between $16.1 billion and $16.5 billion. Energy Transfer Stock Falls After-market On Q4 Revenue Miss: Retail Shrugs It Off

According to Koyfin data, the company reported fourth-quarter revenue of $19.54 billion, missing the average analysts’ estimate of $21.41 billion.

Energy Transfer (ET) stock rose 2.1% on Monday after the company signed a natural gas supply agreement with Denver-based CloudBurst Data Centers.The Dallas-based midstream firm said that under the agreement, it would supply 450,000 million British thermal units (btu) of natural gas through its Oasis Pipeline to CloudBurst’s flagship AI-focused data center outside of San Marcos, Texas.Energy Transfer said it is in talks with several data center developers and expects this to be the first of many such agreements.The pipeline and storage firm said the supplied natural gas would be sufficient to generate up to about 1.2 gigawatts of direct electric power for at least 10 years.Energy Transfer said that ClousBurst expects to reach a final investment decision on the facility later this year. Energy Transfer Stock Rises After Natgas Supply Agreement With Data Center Developer: Retail’s Bullish

The pipeline operator said it is in talks with several data center developers and expects this to be the first of many such agreements.

Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) shares fell 2.7% after the company’s fourth-quarter revenue missed Wall Street estimates.According to Koyfin data, the company reported quarterly revenue of $12.40 billion, compared to the average analysts’ estimate of $13.76 billion.Its adjusted earnings of $0.42 per share for the three months ended Dec. 31 was in line with estimates.Plains expects full-year 2025 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) to be between $2.80 billion and $2.95 billion.The company’s net income slumped 88% to $36 million due to the write-off of a receivable for Line 901 insurance proceeds and $140 million of non-cash charges related to the write-down of two U.S. natural gas liquid terminals.In the fourth quarter, the midstream firm’s crude oil segment adjusted EBITDA rose by 1% compared to the year-ago quarter, driven by increased volumes on its pipelines, tariff hikes, and contributions from acquisitions.Plains’ crude oil volumes rose 1.4% as gains in the Permian Basin were slightly offset by declines in the Mid-Continent and the Gulf Coast.However, its fourth-quarter NGL segment adjusted EBITDA fell 9% due to a lower frac spread.Frac spread is the difference between the selling price of NGL and natural gas. Plains All American Pipeline Stock Falls After Q4 Revenue Miss: Retail Stays Bearish

According to Koyfin data, the company reported quarterly revenue of $12.40 billion, compared to the average analysts’ estimate of $13.76 billion.

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) garnered retail attention on Tuesday after the company beat fourth-quarter revenue estimates.The company posted fourth-quarter revenue of $14.20 billion, which topped Wall Street estimates of $14.13 billion, according to FinChat data.Net income rose to $1.62 billion, or $0.74 per share, compared with $1.57 billion, or $0.72 per share in the year-ago quarter.Enterprise Product’s fourth quarter total equivalent pipeline transportation volumes rose to 13.6 million barrels per day (bpd) on average from 12.7 million bpd last year.In the fourth quarter, its natural gas processing plant inlet volumes grew 7% to 7.6 billion cubic feet/day.Natural gas production at the largest U.S. shale oilfield had soared to record levels in 2024.
