Axie On Apple – But Only For Some

$AXS has taken a significant stride towards regaining its user base after a challenging year. The game’s creator, Sky Mavis, recently announced that the latest version of their blockchain-enabled video game, ‘Axie Infinity: Origins,’ will be available for download on $APPL‘s App Store. 😱

This move marks a significant development in the wider adoption of web3 gaming.

Initially, the game will be launched in select countries across Latin America and Southeast Asia, including Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Sky Mavis co-founder Jeffrey Zirlin expressed that this limited rollout aims to gather essential data on retention rates before a global launch.

For quite some time, Apple has posed challenges for companies seeking to enable users to buy, sell, and trade non-fungible tokens (NFTs) through smartphone applications. However, Sky Mavis has been working closely with Apple for about a year to gain approval for their game.Β

As ‘Axie Infinity: Origins’ hits the App Store, Sky Mavis anticipates a growth spurt, leveraging the power of Apple’s platform to attract more users. According to their estimates, ‘Axie Infinity: Origins’ is currently the most-played web3 game, with over 1.5 million downloads. 🀯

Some wild swings today on the news, but the price action hasn’t exactly been convincing from a bullish perspective – significant selling pressure has pushed Axie down from +21.87% to a still impressive +8%.Β
