The platform also features a two-layer design that separates basic payment transactions from smart contract operations, allowing each function to be optimized independently for better performance.   ADA holders can earn staking rewards by locking up their tokens to help secure the network, vote on proposed changes to the platform, and use ADA for international money transfers with lower fees than traditional services.  Cardano was founded in 2017 by Charles Hoskinson, who previously helped create Ethereum. Hoskinson leads Input Output Global (IOG), the technology company that builds and maintains Cardano's core software. The ecosystem operates through three organizations: IOG handles technical development, the Cardano Foundation promotes adoption and standardization, and Emurgo helps businesses integrate blockchain technology into their operations. This structure distributes responsibilities across multiple groups rather than concentrating control in a single entity.   In February 2025, major asset manager Grayscale Investments filed to create an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for Cardano with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which would allow traditional investors to buy ADA through their regular brokerage accounts without needing to set up cryptocurrency wallets.

Key features include a built-in distributed exchange for trading assets without intermediaries and the Soroban platform for developing smart contracts. Users can also utilize the network for tokenizing real-world assets or accessing decentralized finance services like peer-to-peer lending.  Stellar's native token, XLM, is essential for maintaining network integrity by acting as an intermediary to find efficient exchange paths and preventing spam through small transaction fees and minimum account balance requirements. Unlike many other digital assets, the network has no inflation because the community voted to disable the automatic creation of new tokens. While the project received early funding from the payments company Stripe, it is now sustained by a global community of validators and developers rather than traditional venture capital.

Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

Until conditions stabilize and we have better sight to earnings beyond the current quarter, we have suspended full-year guidance,” the company said in a statement.&nbsp;“April fuel is expected to be approximately $4.75 per gallon, and we expect the quarter to average approximately $4.50 based on the forward curve today. This assumption adds approximately $600 million of expense to the second quarter, equivalent to an earnings per share headwind of $3.60. Apple Inc. (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AAPL">AAPL</a>) announced Monday that it has named John Ternus as its next chief executive officer, succeeding longtime leader Tim Cook, who will transition to the role of executive chairman.AAPL shares dipped nearly 1% in after-hours trading following the announcement.&nbsp;Ternus, who was previously the vice president of hardware engineering, will take over starting&nbsp;Sep 1, 2026 and executive Johny Srouji will take the expanded role of chief hardware officer, the company said.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Ternus’ Background</h2>Ternus joined Apple back in 2001 as a member of the product team, leading on to become the vice president of hardware in 2021- the department which contributes to over 80% of Apple’s revenue - overseeing iPhone, iPad, Mac, and AirPods.“John Ternus has the mind of an engineer, the soul of an innovator, and the heart to lead with integrity and with honor,” Cook said in a statement. “He is a visionary whose contributions to Apple over 25 years are already too numerous to count, and he is without question the right person to lead Apple into the future.”Ternus is a mechanical engineer from the University of Pennsylvania and used to work on virtual reality (VR) headsets at Virtual Research Systems before joining Apple.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">What's Next For Tim Cook?</h2>Tim Cook joined Apple in 1998 and became CEO in 2011, overseeing the introduction of numerous products and services, including new categories such as Apple Watch, AirPods, and Apple Vision Pro, as well as services ranging from iCloud and Apple Pay to Apple TV and Apple Music.Cook will continue in his role as CEO through the summer, working closely with Ternus to ensure a smooth transition. It has been pressuring countries such as Greenland, a major region with untapped rare-earth mineral deposits, and Ukraine to grant access to their undeveloped mineral deposits in exchange for military support, as it seeks to reduce its dependence on other nations, especially China.&nbsp;It is notable that the United States currently owns 10% stake in the USAR.<h1 class="st-heading-1">Deal Contours</h1>The company said Serra Verde’s product contains a high percentage of all four magnetic rare earths, including heavy rare earths Dysprosium, Terbium, and Yttrium.As part of the deal, the company will pay Serra Verde $300 million in cash and issue nearly 126.849 million new shares of USAR common stock. Serra Verde will also supply rare-earth minerals to a special-purpose vehicle backed by various U.S. government agencies to produce a permanent NdFeB magnet.“Together, we believe the combined company will deliver a fully integrated rare earth solution at scale, accelerate growth, and create enhanced value for all stakeholders—including shareholders, customers, employees, local communities, and governments spanning Brazil, the United States, and our Allies,” said Serra Verde chief executive officer, Thras Moraitis.The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter this year. Nielsen data suggested that about 125M viewers tuned in to the game this year.Based on Super Bowl trends, Disney is widely expected to sell out before the game, as new advertisers are more than willing to spend on ad views during the most effective TV marketing event of the year. Historically, the event struggled to sell ads only in its early days, when the game had not yet gained such clout.Notably, recent games have seen a shift in advertiser mix.&nbsp;This year’s game saw a spike in ads for AI products and weight-loss treatments, besides the usual food and beverage advertising.&nbsp;Disney's pricing push builds on momentum from prior broadcasters like Fox Corporation and Comcast, whose Super Bowl telecasts each generated more than $800 million in ad revenue.
